WHAT TO KNOW

COVID UPDATES

COVID Vaccine Update

  • With the updated guidance from IDPH, Covid-19 vaccinations are no longer mandatory. Staying up to date with required vaccines and boosters is, however, highly recommended as a component of infection prevention. With this in mind, effective 6/1/2023 Misericordia will no longer mandate employees and volunteers to be up to date with Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters. Please do consider maintaining your status and if you need assistance obtaining a vaccine or a booster, please work with your supervisor.

Revised Practices for Hazard Pay and Protected Pay

  • This is a reminder that effective June 1, 2023, hazard pay and protected pay will no longer be in effect. If you have a confirmed case of Covid and are absent as a result, this absence will be excused with documentation provided. Benefit time will be applied to cover the days missed if the employee has the benefit time available. Please see your AVP if you have any questions.

Mask Usage

  • Effective June 1, 2023, well-fitted masks are required of all employees and visitors in McAuley.

  • All other areas on campus will be mask optional unless the risk is high based on:
  • Covid-19 activity within a specific cohort;
  • Covid-19 activity within the extended Misericordia Community;
  • and CDC assessment of Covid-19 Hospitalizations.

Please ask your supervisor if you have questions.

CITY EMERGENCY DRILL

On Thursday, June 1 from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM, Misericordia will be participating in a city-wide emergency drill. Participation in this type of event is an annual requirement per our regulations. This is also an opportunity for Misericordia to test and improve the emergency procedures we have in place in an effort to keep our residents, staff, and campus as safe as possible.

The mock scenario for this year's drill involves complex coordinated terrorist attacks happening simultaneously on the north and south side of the city. Throughout the drill, we will be asked to communicate certain information in real-time. Please note that any communications sent out as part of the drill will start with "THIS IS A DRILL - THIS IS ONLY A DRILL". Due to the nature of the scenario and the content that some communications may include, we felt it important that all staff were made aware the drill taking place.
