Introducing Minuteman Mobile App

A new Minuteman Library Network App, Minuteman Mobile, is now available at your App store. 


This App will replace the former version of the Minuteman App. Users of the former App will need to install Minuteman Mobile by June 1, 2025 as the old App will no longer be available for use as of that date.


To install Minuteman Mobile, you will need your library card number and the password or PIN associated with your library account. Please visit here if you need to reset your PIN or password or stop by the Library.

We will meet at the Fowler Branch Library at 10:00 a.m. and then walk together on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. For April and Earth Month we will read John Vaillant's 2023 book Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World. Shakespeare's Birthday Party with The World's A Stage Players

Join the World's a Stage Players and the Concord Free Public Library for Shakespeare's Birthday: a Celebration of the Bard's Works. The festivities will include Shakespeare trivia, scenes from Shakespeare's plays and Shakespeare scene roulette. No registration required.

Join author Liz Kinchen for a discussion of her book Light in Bandaged Places : Healing in the Wake of Young BetrayalWhen a lonely young girl meets a teacher twice her age, she is seduced into a web of deceit and secrecy; an experience that teaches her that sex in exchange for attention feels like love, even as it destroys her self-worth. Special Collections Programs

A Conversation on the Intersection of Art and Nature – with Dr. Jennifer S. Tafe

Join us for an evening of art, birds, conservation, and history, as we explore the wonder of nature at the intersection of art and birds.


Dr. Jennifer S. Tafe, Director. of Mass Audubon’s Museum of American Bird Art (MABA), will share some of the incredible art from MABA’s collection, including the story behind the striking Bald Eagle silkscreen painting by Andy Warhol on display at the Main Library in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Come explore the world of birds as seen through the eyes of artists. Mass Audubon has been inextricably linked with art since its founding in 1896, commissioning the best wildlife artists of the day to create works of art meant to educate and inspire the people of Massachusetts.

The Sudbury-Assabet-Concord (SuAsCo) Wild and Scenic River Stewardship Council hosts University of Connecticut Professor Robert Thorson for a special presentation on the history of our rivers as part of the Concord250 celebrations. Professor Thorson's talk will feature his new analysis of historic seasonal changes in the rivers, from spring ice breakup to their typical slow and dark path through our town in summer.

Poetry at the Library

Poetry at the Library Presents Megan Marshall & David Gullette

Sunday, May 4, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Goodwin Forum, Main Library


Join us for an exhilarating afternoon featuring scholar, writer, and biographer Megan Marshall who will perform the play she authored, Meet Scott Harney, with David Gullette, Literary Director of The Poets’ Theatre. The play weaves a narrative around nine of Scott Harney’s poems, published in his posthumous collection, The Blood of San Gennaro (Arrowsmith 2020). Megan and David will perform as a duo, with David reading Scott’s poems and Megan reading the narration. Afterwards, Megan will discuss her work in publishing Scott’s poetry and creating this remarkable play. 


Book signings and light refreshments follow. Poetry at the Library is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.

Virtual Films at Fowler

You Can Count on Me (2000)

(Discussion Date on Zoom)



Starring Laura Linney, Mark Ruffalo, Rory Culkin, and Matthew Broderick, this film follows a single mother living in a small Catskill Mountains town, whose life is disrupted when her struggling, unreliable, rarely seen younger brother returns to stay with her. Winner of Best Picture and Best Screenplay at the Sundance Film Festival.

Earth Day Storytime at Fowler (Ages 5 & under)

To celebrate Earth Day, please join us for a special Saturday Storytime in collaboration with the Concord-Carlisle High School Green Team and the Concord Chapter of Mothers Out Front. After songs and stories, there will be the opportunity to make your own mini greenhouse, using recycled gallon jugs and then plant native seeds that you will be able to transplant in the coming months. No registration required. 

Fowler Storytime (Ages 5 & under)
