Recently Special Collections hosted the following presentation in collaboration with the Concord250 History and Education Subcommittee -
Beth van Duzer, an independent historian in Concord, MA, presented Crowdsourcing the American Revolution on November 16, 2024, in the Goodwin Forum, Main Library. Concord and surrounding communities are excellent about celebrating April 19th. However, there was more to the American Revolution than that critical date. The war lasted for eight years. Historian Beth van Duzer spoke about her research, including finding individuals who fought for Concord during the eight years of the war, who died in service, and where they are buried. [Watch Presentation]
The History and Education Subcommittee has compiled a draft directory of individuals who fought for Concord in the War of Independence. The committee invites you to peruse the document and identify possible omissions or other edits. You can access the directory here.
