Monthly Update | April 2026

Spring Break!

Spring break isn’t just for kids! Adults in schools across the land are looking forward to sleeping in, traveling, spring cleaning, beaching, surfing the waves and the net, hiking, boating, skiing … and the list goes on!

I am going on a road trip, heading down to Florida to visit family and friends. I have an uncle who lives in Chiefland, and I’ve never seen his home. I have a brother-in-law in Tampa and a good friend in Bradenton, and I’m looking forward to some time visiting with each of them.

Spring break is a time to rest, relax, and shore up energy for the frantic push to the end of the school year. Before you know it, we will be celebrating our students at the end-of-year ceremonies (my favorite day of the year) and graduating four seniors. In between now and then, we have Grandparents & Special Friends Day, field day, end-of-year testing, our high school play, last-minute field trips, and more.

Enjoy the break! It’s going to be a race to the finish when we get back!

Blessings,

Betsy

SEAHAWK SCOOP:

Save the Date: Grandparents and Special Friends Day!

Trident Academy is getting ready for one of our most cherished traditions on Friday, April 17, from 8 to 11 a.m.! We are so excited to invite our students' grandparents and special friends to campus to experience firsthand what a "day in the life" of a Seahawk is like. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their hard work, their classrooms, and their daily routines with the special people in their lives.

If your child’s grandparent or special friend will be joining us for this event, please RSVP by emailing Hallie Mendoza at hmendoza@tridentacademy.com

Parents, to make this gathering special, we kindly ask for your help in providing drinks, bites, and supplies for the reception. Please review the sign-up genius and click on the item(s) you can bring. Please plan to bring items in by Thursday, April 16th. Thank you!

Recording: Nutrition and the Brain: Fueling Focus & Behavior

In case you missed the latest session from our parent education series, you can catch the recording, review the slides, and download a recipe list here. We enjoyed our conversation with Alice, and hope you are able to gain some good insights as well!

Admissions Update

We are receiving inquries daily from interested parents, and we are accepting and enrolling new students for next year. An important part of our admissions process is a two-day shadow visit, which allows a prospective student to get the feel for our school, our teachers, and potential classmates, and allows our teachers to see the student in a classroom setting. There are only a few weeks remaining to schedule shadow visits.

If you, friends, or family members are interested in applying for a child to attend Trident next year, we encourage you to submit an application soon in order to allow a shadow visit to occur! Visit our admissions process page to learn more.

Uniforms!
As our students have grown since the start of school, several of them have begun to outgrow their shirts, shorts, and skirts. To purchase
Trident Academy gear, please visit our school spirit store here >> Trident Academy Gear. We also have a large collection of gently used Trident-branded items available at school in a variety of sizes.

In addition, with many students wearing identical school-branded items that end up in our lost and found, please be sure your child's Trident gear is labeled with their name.

Upcoming Parent Education Events

As a founding member of the Association of LD Schools, Trident Academy is proud to offer our parents access to parent education events presented by other ALDS schools.

At 12 noon on Tuesday, April 7, The Fletcher School in Charlotte will host a lunch and learn event titled Childhood Anxiety and Depression-Practical Strategies. This workshop will address the ramifications of anxiety and depression in children and adolescents and will provide easy-to-use suggestions and treatment options. More information can be found here. Please note there is a $10 registration fee.

Summer Enrichment at Trident Academy is designed for rising first through rising eighth grade students who are struggling in reading and/or math skills. This year's courses include Reading Foundations, Reading Comprehension/Applied Writing, and Multi-Sensory Math. In response to parent requests for a longer day, we have also added optional non-academic enrichment sessions.Learn more and register here!

WHAT'S HAPPENING ON CAMPUS:

We were full of energy and creativity as we celebrated a fantastic Spirit Week. The fun kicked off with a cozy Pajama Day, followed by a day of repping favorite sports teams, and a day dedicated to honoring personal heroes. To wrap it all up, the halls were filled with favorite characters from books and movies!

Practice makes progress! Students have been hard at work this week with a hands-on OG review to sharpen their literacy skills

Lower School students spent a cozy Pajama Day in the garden, using their math skills to measure exactly how much their plants have grown this week!
