Hello, Trident Academy Family. Here is your news!
Weekly Updates
Head of School

Trident Academy is accredited by 3 distinct entities: Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), AdvancEd, and Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE). SAIS and AdvancEd are done at the same time. The Academy accreditation is on a different cycle and will be coming up in a couple more years.

This year we will begin the process of self-study and goal setting needed to complete the requirements for SAIS/AdvancEd accreditation which will take place in the spring of 2020. There is an 18-month process involved in preparing for it! Soon you will be receiving more information about surveys and focus groups. We need all of our constituents (students, parents, teachers, administrators, board members, alums, and friends) to be a part of shaping our future. Please help us continue to grow and mature and become better at what we do by participating in the process. We will have more information later about ways you can be involved in our reflection!

This week has been rather quiet! Lower school students have gotten back into the routine of school, high school students worked all week on a forensics project and our middle school spent the week in the mountains! Next week should be back to "normal"!!

Please plan to come for coffee and conversation on Wednesday morning after dropping off your child. Anne Hall (Dean of Faculty), Anne Vickers (OG Fellow), and I look forward to seeing you there!

Rewined Candle Fundraiser
  • Be on the look out for "Rewined Candle" packets that were sent home on Tuesday, Sept. 4th. These make great hostess gifts, impromptu gifts, or to have on hand for holidays.
  • Candles will be delivered to the school late October, early November. So, this will get them here in time to make great holiday gifts.
  • For your convenience order forms are available on RenWeb.
  • Trident Academy will receive 50% of the sales!
  • This is a big fundraiser for us. Last year we sold $6000 and so Rewind gave Trident Academy $3000!
  • Due Tuesday, Sept. 28th
  • Come by and smell samples set up in the mall area of the school.
Need Lunch Ideas?
Some of our families have been using a local school lunch delivery service: Food For Thought -  www.foodforthoughtcharleston.com . Without a few other Trident Academy subscribers, FFT will have to discontinue service. Thanks for considering! All orders are placed through Food for Thought, not Trident Academy.
