Giving Thanks!
Next Tuesday is the big day! Our lower and middle school students have been working hard to create just the right skits to show off their creative talents for the annual Thanksgiving Program. You will not want to miss this! We’ll get started at 8:30 AM sharp. Our lower school students will show off their musical and theatrical skills, performing a couple of skits and several song selections. Not to be outdone, our middle school students will show off the work they’ve done this semester in drama by creating and performing their own skits. Our high school students will happily deliver all of our canned food items, along with a turkey and a ham, to Young Moms Together (formerly known as the Florence Crittenton Home). After the program, we will have a small reception in our courtyard before sending everyone off for a very happy Thanksgiving!
Here are some of the things I’m thankful for this year:
Tender moments
Healthy habits
Authentic acceptance
Naps
Kindness
Silliness
Genuine interactions
Investment in the future
Variety
Ice Cream
Nice days
God’s hand on my life
Blessings,
Betsy

Upcoming Parent Education Events
As a founding member of the Association of LD Schools, Trident Academy is proud to offer our parents access to parent education events presented by other ALDS schools.
On Tuesday, December 2 (7:00 pm), The Hill Learning Center in Durham, North Carolina, will offer a virtual event titled Is This Typical? Early Signs of Learning Differences. This event will focus on topics such as:
- What’s considered “typical” for reading, writing, math, attention, and behavior
- Early signs of learning differences like dyslexia, ADHD, and language processing issues
- When and how to seek support—from school teams or outside professionals
- Ways to respond with empathy, action, and hope.
More information can be found here.

Attendance
Trident Academy is built on the belief that there's no substitute for professional, thoughtful instruction, and for that reason, daily attendance is essential.
We have only 17 school days left this quarter. Because each day's lesson builds directly on the previous one, missing even a single day puts a heavy burden on the student. While our teachers work hard to help students catch up, they must essentially learn yesterday's material while keeping pace with today's.
Please make every effort to ensure your child is in school and on time every day. We want all our students to finish this semester strong!

Uniforms! As the weather continues to cool off in Charleston, some of our students may want to get Trident Academy sweaters and jackets to wear during outside time. In addition, as our students have grown since the start of school, several of them have begun to outgrow their shirts, shorts, and skirts. To purchase Trident Academy gear, please visit our school spirit store here >> Trident Academy Gear

| | WHAT'S HAPPENING ON CAMPUS: | | We loved celebrating our high schoolers at the "Historical Fall Ball - Honoring Legacies" event this morning! Students brought powerful historical figures—like Gandhi, Jane Goodall, and Stan Lee—to life through detailed costumes. Their presentations were sharp and insightful, demonstrating excellent research and application of morphology. A memorable way to honor the past! | |
Our archers showed incredible focus and precision this week, with many of our athletes hitting the bullseye! We're so proud of their hard work. | | Our OG students practiced distinguishing between open and closed vowels this week. They pulled a card and shot a ping pong into the correct "open" or "closed" bucket. What a fun, hands-on way to master foundational literacy skills! | | Our 7th graders stepped right into their science unit this week! They had a great field trip where they met with an expert from the Charleston Parks System who brought local biodiversity to life. Students learned firsthand about marshes, native plants, and the impact of invasive and threatened species—all perfect inspiration for their upcoming poster reports! | | |
