Weekly Update | August 21, 2026

Kindness and Determination

Our first week is wrapped, and we've been blown away both by the way our students have pushed themselves to be their best and by the kindness that they've shown each other. We wanted to share with you a few examples of what we've seen on our campus so far:

  • A lower school girl made the conscious effort to sit with a new student who was alone at lunch.
  • A student helped her classmate carry their school supplies when their hands were full.
  • Many students pushed themselves to do more push ups or run a little faster in their PE class fitness tests.
  • Students have volunteered to lead the Pledge of Allegiance during our schoolwide morning meetings.

Our students are showing that they are up for the challenge this year and that they want to bring out the best in each other.

Keep up the good work, Seahawks!

SEAHAWK SUMMER:

Our Lower School students took a trip to Roots and Shoots Nursery to explore native plants, spot monarch caterpillars, and collect seed pods. Back on campus, they planted our very own butterfly garden. We can't wait to watch it—and the pollinators—bloom!

Our fourth graders are loving these multi-sensory math strategies to master place value! By seeing, touching, and physically building each number, they are laying a rock-solid foundation for higher-level math!

Our middle school students practiced their pipette skills this week, building accuracy and muscle memory by transferring controlled drops from sticky notes down to smaller and smaller coins. This key lab technique sets them up for success as they begin biology lessons on cell structure, staining slides, and enzyme reactions.

Kyle Brown, Educational Technology Director at Trident Academy, recently attended Google’s exclusive, invitation-only Google Educator Group (GEG) Leader event in Atlanta!

As one of only seven Google for Education Certified Trainers within 50 miles of Charleston, Kyle collaborated with top leaders on how artificial intelligence (AI) can serve as an assistive tool for critical thinking but never as a replacement for s human.

At Trident Academy, we ensure technology enhances human-driven learning, keeping student creativity, passion, and thought at the very center of education.
