Professional Development in Action: The Learning Brain

This afternoon, our teachers dove into professional development with Laura Standridge, DC, BCN-L, focusing on the neuroscience of learning! Since our teachers change brains every day, this training provided deeper insights into how executive function networks impact attention, working memory, and classroom behaviors. By connecting neurological processes directly to practical strategies, our educators are strengthening how we support, guide, and empower every student with even greater intention!

The game starts at 7 p.m., but if your child wants to go on the field before the game for the high-five tunnel, please plan to arrive to the Scoreboard Lounge by 6:20 p.m. Purchase your ticket here.

SEAHAWK :

Our 7th and 8th graders kicked off an exciting new hands-on project with Mr. Clark from @lowcountrymaritime! Over the coming weeks, students will be building their very own radio-controlled DragonFlite 95 sailboats from the ground up.

Through this program, our Seahawks will dive into engineering, mechanics, and maritime physics—all leading up to putting their hard work to the test in local races! We can't wait to see these boats take shape and hit the water.

Our students had a great time in art this week. They learned all about Gel Plate Printmaking, exploring how to create stunning patterns using texture!

Our Lower School Seahawks spent time diving into history to learn all about the Bill of Rights! After exploring their rights, freedoms, and why these foundational rules matter, students put their knowledge to work by creating and sharing their own presentations.

Our 4th and 5th graders took a trip to the Isle of Palms for a nature walk to learn about our local environment!
