Wednesday Night Dinner and Program

Wednesday night dinner and program continues! We have three simultaneous studies for adults. One study is "Naturally Supernatural, Part 2," examining how to live a Holy Spirit-led life, including the scriptural background of speaking in tongues and prayer for healing. The second study is "Naturally Supernatural, Part 1," an introduction to hearing God's voice and prophecy. The third study is Alpha, an introduction to Christian faith. We have programming for all ages, nursery through adult. Dinner begins at 5:30pm and studies take place 6:00-7:15pm. Register for meals on Sunday Connection Cards or call the church office. The meal cost is adult ($7), kid/student ($5), family (max of $20), and college students eat free.

What's for dinner this week? Loaded baked potatoes, salad bar, bread, dessert & popcorn chicken for the kids!

Denomination Vote Meeting

On Sunday, Feb. 26 at 3:30pm, full members of Stillwater are invited to vote on our denominational connection. First, our District Superintendent will conduct a vote to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church. Second, if this vote passes, we will conduct a second vote to align with the Global Methodist Church. Both our Visionary Team and Pastor recommend voting to disaffiliate with the UMC and to align with the GMC. Only full members may vote, and only those present at the meeting may vote. A current church membership list is in the lobby if you wish to verify your membership. If any member needs more details prior to the vote, contact the pastor any time. A GMC informational packet is available in the church office.  

Prayer Walk

On Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2:30pm, join us for a Prayer Walk! We will walk through the church campus and pray over our building and our ministries prior to the denomination vote at 3:30pm.

Student Gathering

Student gathering will resume this Sunday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 6pm. Friends are always welcome!

Next Gen Sunday

Next Gen Sunday is Feb. 26! We will have student band practice at 2:30pm on Sunday, Feb. 19. Singers and instrumentalists in grades 6-12 are invited to join us. On Next Gen Sunday, the students will help lead worship, greet, usher, read scripture, lead the Apostles Creed, and be A/V tech apprentices. Ash Wednesday Service

Join us on Feb. 22, Ash Wednesday, for Wednesday night dinner at 5:30pm, followed by our Ash Wednesday Service with the imposition of ashes in the Sanctuary at 6pm.

Stillwater Talent Show Fundraiser

Mark your calendars! On the evening of Sunday, March 26, 6-8pm, Stillwater Church is holding a Talent Show Fundraiser for our Future Fund! Desserts will be served. If you have a special talent or special dessert that you would like to share, contact the church office at info@stillwaterchurch.com. Ticket prices will start at $25 per person. All proceeds will go to the Future Fund. More information will be forthcoming! 

Lions Club Pancake Breakfast

On Saturday, March 18, 6:30-11:00am, the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast will be held on our campus. The cost is $8 per person and $4 for children 6 years and under, drive-thru or eat-in. You may purchase a ticket in the church office. 

Future Fund Update

Between now and May, Stillwater is collecting as much as possible for its Future Fund, which will be used as required payment to disaffiliate from the UMC. An additional approximate amount of $65,000 will be needed in the fund by that time. We appreciate faithfulness in giving that will contribute towards our church's bright and positive future. 

Choir Director

Kids Ministry Coordinator

Stillwater Church is expanding its team! We are currently seeking a part-time Kids Ministry Coordinator. If you know of someone passionate about Jesus and inspiring children to love and serve God, contact Pastor Mike at mike@stillwaterchurch.com for more information. 

Tuesday Adult Small Group

The Tuesday Adult Small Group meets on Tuesdays, at 10am, in the Choir Room for coffee, snacks, and fellowship. Men and women of all ages are invited to participate. 

Missions Update

The Missions Team's focus for February is the USA Wesley Foundation Student Gathering. We will be providing a meal for the students on February 28. We will also be giving the students happy bags! We are collecting the following items for donations for the bags: Rice Krispy Treats, travel packs of tissues, mints, gum, chapstick, chocolate, highlighters, $5 Starbucks or other gift cards, and other small items. Please place donations on the Missions Table in the office hallway by Feb. 26.

Technical Volunteers Needed

Our technical department is growing with the recent upgrades that we have made. If you are interested in joining our technical team in the areas of audio, video, livestream, or lighting, contact Kim at (251) 675-2728 or kim@stillwaterchurch.com for more information.

Early Learning Center

The Early Learning Center is currently seeking afternoon teachers to work from 1:30 to 5:30 and substitute teachers. Volunteers are also needed to help rock babies and play with toddlers. The 3K and 4K classes enjoy visitors reading to them and helping with special projects. For more information, contact Eliese at eliese@stillwaterchurch.com or (251) 675-2904.

Used Wash Cloths, Towels, and Bedsheets Needed

Cindy Messer is requesting donations of USED wash cloths, towels, and bedsheets for people in her care. These items are sometimes not salvageable once used, so only used items are needed. Donations can be given directly to Cindy or dropped off in the church office.

Food Ministries

Women of Hope need packers, delivery people, and food items for our Backpack Ministry. Each week during the school year, our Backpack Ministry provides food for kids in Saraland schools who need nutritional assistance on weekends. Donated items needed include cans of ravioli, spaghetti-o's, soup, pop tarts, Vienna sausage, small packages of cookies, cheese crackers, breakfast bars, Ramen noodles, instant grits and oatmeal packets, and juice boxes. No items with peanut butter are needed due to allergies. Drop off items in the office hallway at the Missions Table. Sign up to pack bags or deliver bags at the Welcome Desk in the church lobby.

The Food Pantry is now receiving produce and dairy items on the first, third, and fifth Fridays of the month. The truck arrives at the church 9:30-10:30am and distribution starts at 11:30am. We need volunteers to sort the items and distribute on those days. If you would like to serve in this mission, please contact Therese Brown at (251) 751-5346 or the church office. The Food Pantry also continues to serve residents of Saraland, Satsuma, Creola, Chunchula, and Axis on Mondays, 9-11am.
