Angel is a senior at the University of Georgia, pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in International Affairs and a concentration in Pre-Law. Passionate about community engagement, she has remained actively involved throughout her college career. At UGA, Angel serves as the Community Outreach Director for the Arch Policy Institute. Her experience extends beyond campus, having interned with the Office of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff and contributed to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as a DEI intern at Flagstar Bank. | |

Project Safe Celebrates 21st Groovy Nights | |
Project Safe will present their annual Groovy Nights Fundraiser on September 21st at 8:00 P.M and feature performances by Athens locals and music by DJ Tic. We will have Erin and Josh Podvin as the emcees. The event will be at the VFW on Sunset Drive.
Groovy Nights is one of the main fundraisers for Project Safe. The event is a retro lip-sync battle and disco party. This year seven teams are competing for trophies for Judges’ Favorite and Audience Favorite. Regular Tickets are $35 and table seat tickets are $55. Both include food and drink.

Dr. Kathleen Herring joins St. Mary’s Internal Medicine Associates | |
Dr. Kathleen Herring, a primary care physician who is board-certified in internal medicine, has joined St. Mary’s Internal Medicine Associates (SIMA). She is now accepting new patients, with same-day or next-day appointments available in many cases.
Dr. Herring comes to St. Mary’s Medical Group from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she has served as Chief Resident for the past year. As Chief Resident, she supervised other resident physicians in outpatient offices and urgent care settings. She also led teams of residents, interns and medical students on inpatient wards in the hospital and provided hospitalist cross-coverage from 2022 until joining St. Mary’s.
