Athens Area Chamber of Commerce Accepting Board Applications

The Chamber's Nominating Committee is gearing up to bring on a new class of members of our Board of Directors. If you think you might be interested or might suggest someone, please let us know. The job description for a Board member as well as the application is linked below. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on October 24th.

There are plenty of reasons to join and maintain your Chamber membership, but those reasons often look different for each of our nearly 900 members. AADM Launches October Initiative: Supporting Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses: Athens Black Market and Storytelling Campaign

 This October, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) is proud to announce a special initiative, Supporting Minority & Women Owned Businesses in Athens and throughout the state of Georgia.

As part of this month-long focus, AADM will host the Athens Black Market on Saturday, October 19th, from 12 PM to 5 PM at College Square in downtown Athens. The event is free to the general public, with a diverse range of local vendors.



AADM is also launching a storytelling campaign to amplify the voices of minority entrepreneurs and business owners. By sharing their stories, AADM aims to shed light on the challenges minority- and women-owned businesses face and advocate for increased equity and opportunity in the local business community.

Today one of the biggest touring comedians, Tom Segura, announced the 2025 dates of his global stand-up comedy tour Tom Segura: Come Together. Segura’s highly anticipated new hour of comedy kicked off last year and has been selling out with stops across Asia and North America. Over 40 dates have been added throughout North America and Europe including a stop in Athens, GA, at Akins Ford Arena on January 30.
