Education is the key building block towards long term community sustainability. We believe it is imperative for the business community to be a critical partner in providing support for students as well as teachers/staff/administrators. 

For the last several years, members of the Chamber have been so incredibly supportive by providing items (gift cards, products, services, etc.) to support the Employee of the Month of Clarke County School District.

In accordance with its mission, the Joint Development Authority of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia and City of Winterville is pleased to invite small, for-profit businesses located in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia and the City of Winterville (within Athens-Clarke County) to apply for the Small Business Workforce Development Grant program.

ATHENA Leadership Award Nominations Now Open!

This international award is rooted in celebrating the change-makers and trailblazers who open doors of leadership and opportunity for women in communities around the world. With over 8,200 recipients representing 48 states and 11 countries, the award’s rich history, international scope and focus on mentorship distinguish it as one of the most prestigious leadership awards one can receive. The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce has proudly presented the ATHENA Leadership Award locally since 1988.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2026 ATHENA Leadership Award.  Please submit nominations no later than Monday, September 1, 2025.

Lydia's Place Ribbon Cutting

Athens Orthopedic Clinic Opens New Surgery Center Aimed at Redefining the New Standard in Medicine

Athens Orthopedic Clinic (AOC) will open its new Joint and Spine Surgery Center on August 18, the latest capital project from the region's largest provider of orthopedics and sports medicine.
