July 18, 2022 Dear William Paterson Faculty and Staff, One of the many unique rewards of the work we do is the opportunity to welcome a new group of bright, ambitious young people to campus each summer. For me, seeing new Pioneers for last week’s series of student orientations provided fresh inspiration and yet another reminder of the critical importance of our mission.  These students are fully focused on their futures and the promise of all that a William Paterson degree can do for them. In the semesters and years ahead, it will be our responsibility and our privilege to guide them toward that goal.

I want to thank Vice President for Student Development Miki Cammarata and her team, especially Donna Minnich Spuhler, director of Campus Activities, Service and Leadership, and including so many great student orientation leaders (above photo), for organizing the week’s events and providing our new students with an informative and engaging experience. Everyone involved in orientation, which continues next month, helped show William Paterson at its best and demonstrated to our new students why they made the right choice to enroll here. My next weekly update will be in two weeks, on Monday, August 1st.  With less than six weeks left until the start of the Fall semester, let’s make each one count.
