Dear Parent Crew,
It was great to have the students in class for a full week of school. As I have popped into classes, I have seen students working diligently on reading and writing, engaged in meaningful discussions and focused instruction in math. Students have also been using our Chromebooks to access iReady and Dreambox to individualize instruction. Ms. Speller has had student outside exploring habitats for STEM. Anyway, there is a lot of great learning and I am proud of our students' efforts.
Please keep in mind as we are coming into the end of the quarter, parent-teacher conferences will be occurring October 8th and 10th. Watch for information from your child's teacher on how to sign up.
Lastly, for the month of September, we have focused on the character trait of Perseverance. At Pine Lane we describe perseverance as follows, "We embrace challenges. We use positive self talk to try and try again. We explore new strategies and seek assistance to find solutions and reach goals." As we wrap up this month, I encourage you to ask your child what they have learned about perseverance and in what ways they have demonstrated this character trait throughout the month. Next month, we will be focusing on Leadership.
Have an excellent weekend and enjoy the cooler fall weather!
