Dear Parent Crew,
We have so much going on as we head into the final week of the quarter and into fall break. This week we had field trips to the Challenger Learning Center, Miller Farms, and a trip for first grade to various areas of Parker. These real-life experiences help cement the learning that is done in the classroom and bring relevancy to how we might contribute to a better world.
This week I'd like to enlist your help for a couple of systemic problems we are experiencing around breakfast and a lack of substitute teachers.
First, if your child eats breakfast at school and you drop them off, would you please make every attempt to have them here by 8:55 am, so that they have ample time to eat and get to class. We have had a large number of students not able to finish eating their food and sometimes not even able to get through the line before school starts. We do send them to class with their food to finish. This is causing disruptions and messes in the classroom. We do want them to be well-fed and prepared to learn so thank you for your help with this.
Second, we are looking to build an internal Pine Lane sub-pool from our community. We are unfortunately regularly short subs causing to have to scramble to find coverage or split classrooms. To qualify for a substitute teacher license all you need to have is a bachelor's degree; click here to view
If you are interested and possibly able to serve our Pine Lane community in this capacity, please fill out the following interest form:
We will then plan an informational night to help those interested apply and understand Pine Lane better. If you want to get a head start on applying, please visit
DCSD's Career page.
Lastly, don't forget to get signed up for conferences next week and come check out our Book Fair. And thank you all for feeding during those long conferences days. You are an amazing community and I so appreciate all of your support of our Crew. Have an excellent weekend!!!
