Dear Parent Crew,
We very much enjoyed the wonderful weather today and I know I am looking forward to getting outside this weekend as well. I just want to update you on a few things that have gone on this week. Tuesday, we held our staff vote to determine whether EL Education would take us on in a full partnership. The required threshold was 80% for partnership. We reached 65%. This does not change our overall direction as a school only the way in which we work with EL Education as an organization. With the majority of our staff on board with a common vision, this is a thrilling time at Pine Lane. Collective Efficacy, the belief that with aligned effort a group can make a positive impact, is a major factor in improving over school improvement. As we (Staff, Parents, and Students) continue to develop this vision of success for our students, we will continue to see improvement in our ability to empower excellence in character, achievement, and contribution to a better world.
A few reminders, next Monday is Veteran's Day! A special thanks to any of you have served in our armed force to protect the freedoms that we enjoy here in the United States! To all of you, we are indebted. With this in mind, too, please remember there is no school for your children that day. Also in celebration of Veteran's Day, 2nd and 5th-grade students with the leadership of Ms. Delude, our new music teacher will be performing our Veteran's Day Concert. This will be held at Sierra Middle School at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 13th. We hope to see you there.
Have a great weekend! Keep encouraging your children to consider how they can show empathy toward others this month!
