PLE Weekly Updates
Keep informed about what is going on at Pine Lane Elementary!
Pine Lane Crew,

We have had an exceptional week. Relationships, routines, and expectations are being established and the kids seem so happy to be at Pine Lane. It has been a joy to watch!

This past week and a half we, as a crew, have worked hard to unpack our mission statement, "Pine Lane empowers excellence in character, achievement, and contribution to a better." Today, our learning culminated with our first of a series of "Community Meetings." This assembly was run by our staff. As we move forward each grade level will be working together to lead an assembly on each of our Habits of Character (Perseverance, Leadership, Empathy, Bravery, Ethical, Accountable, Respect, and Service). We are excited to see all that our amazing students produce as they seek to contribute to a better world.

Thank you all for the support you give us as a staff and the support you give your children! I am privileged to have such a wonderful community!!!

Important Information: Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
Universal Screening
As part of the Douglas County School District’s Universal Screening Process, ALL students in Grade 3 and Grade 6 will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT 7) the week of September 9 - 13, 2019. This assessment indicates the level and pattern of cognitive development of a student in comparison to grade and age mates. These general reasoning abilities, which start developing at birth and continue through early adulthood, are influenced by experiences gained both in and out of school.

If your child is in 3rd or 6th Grade please see detailed information about this assessment here: Universal Screening Information.

Gifted Identification Referral Testing
If your child is in grades K, 1, 2, 4 or 5 AND you believe he/she needs evaluation for Gifted Identification and Services, you may refer your child for testing by initiating the Gifted Identification Process.
NOTE:  Requesting this assessment automatically initiates the process to evaluate for Gifted Identification.

Please request CogAT testing for your child by completing the Referral for Gifted Identification linked HERE.

Hello parents,
My name is Alexis DeLude and I am the new music teacher. As I am planning the choir program for this year, it would be helpful to know how many students I may have in the program.

This is for Grades 3-6 only. If your student is interested in joining choir this year, please sign up here with your student's name, your email, and your student's grade.

This is not a sign up to join choir! It is simply a sign up for me to gauge interest and general numbers.

After I have an idea of how many students are interested, I will send out more concrete information about choir this year.

Thank you very much!
Alexis DeLude
