Pastor's Ponderings
There is so much to be thankful for as we think about what God is doing at Parkside! The pandemic continues to move into our rearview mirror, and opportunities to minister the good news about Jesus are stacking up in front of us.

Our new schedule on Sundays is paying off as over 300 folks are gathering in Sunday School, and over 400 are gathering regularly for Worship. We praise the Lord for new members joining and for conversations with people about salvation and baptism. Parksiders are being faithful to give financially, and faithful to invite folks to come with them and experience the Lord.

Sunday School is an essential part of us growing in a spiritually healthy way. I hope each of you has a Sunday School group you are committed and faithful to be a part of. That is your first and best support when you need prayer, ministry, and when you have a question about God. This summer will be a time we are asking all our adult Sunday School groups to organize themselves for maximum impact. I will be meeting with ALL CURRENT ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL LEADERS on June 6 in the Worship Center from 3-5:30 PM to lay out the blueprint every Sunday School class needs to build with so that we can most effectively reach, teach and minister through our Sunday School groups. We will give each group two months to recruit the leaders they need, and then on August 15 we will have a Sunday School training event where every leader in every age of Sunday School will be trained and inspired to lead your group to grow both spiritually and in number.

If you aren’t a part of Sunday School yet, have I got a deal for you! I will begin a new class called the PASTOR’S CLASS on June 27. This 8-week class will meet in the Worship Center from 9:45-10:45 AM for 8 weeks and we will be studying about God’s PURPOSE for your life. After 8 weeks, I am hoping you will be so excited about Sunday School and about the new friends you have met that you will commit to keep coming and be a part of a new Sunday School group with your new friends. Look for more info about this in the coming weeks!

Churches don’t have to have a “summer slump.” When you get that chance to go on vacation, GO AND ENJOY IT! And when you are back from your travels COME EVERY CHANCE YOU GET and be faithful to share a testimony of what God is doing at Parkside and invite folks you know to come with you.

It's a privilege to be your Pastor and part of the Parkside family!

Pastor Jeff

Summer Music Nights
We are excited to present two nights this summer to gather out in the park area of our property and have a relaxing night of family-friendly music. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase food from a local food truck and let the kids play on the playground. You could bring a game to play with others or a football or frisbee to toss, or you could just sit back and enjoy the music from local musicians. Each night will have three groups providing music throughout the evening, beginning at 6 PM and ending around 7:30 PM. This will be a great opportunity to invite someone from your neighborhood or workplace, so they could connect with the Parkside family. Don’t miss our Summer Music Nights—June 6th and July 25th.

LOOK, NEW BOOKS!
The librarians have been busy cataloging books. We have 20 books that are now being prepared to be shelved. We will be printing labels and covering the books so they will be ready to be checked out. This process takes a bit of time but, it is our hope to have them on top of the center shelf soon for you to browse through.
Our own Bob Lankford has donated his recently published book to the library,
THE CHRISTIAN'S TOOLKIT: 7 ESSENTIAL TOOLS AVAILABLE TO ALL CHRISTIANS.
His book is one of the 20 books that will be available soon for you to check out.

A SUMMER CHALLENGE FOR ALL!
Pastor Jeff is challenging us, the congregation young and old alike, to use our library and the new RightNow Media app this summer. Our library offers over 4200 books/DVDs. You can choose novels, biographies, Christian study resources, or devotionals. We also have an excellent selection of DVDs for all ages.
RightNow Media has over 20,000 videos for all ages to choose from that can be used individually, with groups, or with families. (If you need help signing up for RightNow, call the church office.)
The challenge is one that ANY PARKSIDER can do! Over the summer you are challenged to read ONE BOOK from our wonderful library and watch ONE VIDEO SERIES from RightNow media. You have the months of June and July to get it done.
Anyone who 1) Reads a book, 2) Watches a video series from RightNow, and 3) Sends Pastor Jeff a short email about what you learned or what you liked (jeff@thepark.org) will be eligible for a drawing to win an all-expense paid trip for you and your family to Pastor Jeff and Lisa’s house for a night of lots of food and wonderful fellowship.
Join the challenge!
