Pastor's Ponderings
Pastor’s Ponderings

Church Family,
2021 continues to be the year of new beginnings. As the pandemic continues to move to our rear-view mirror, the road ahead becomes clearer and more exciting. Our Sunday gatherings and our community ministries are getting back to what they were before the pandemic, yet there is a new spirit of unity and expectancy of what God is going to do.
May is such an exciting month in the life of our church. Along with the excitement we experience each week through our Sunday School and Worship gatherings, we have some special things to look forward to…
OUR SCHEDULE CHANGE- Beginning May 2 our schedule changes to allow for 2 Worship services and 1 hour of Sunday School. Whether you begin your Sunday at 8:30AM for Worship/Sunday School or you choose to begin your Sunday at 9:45AM for Sunday School/Worship, the opportunity to connect with the Lord and others who love Him too will help us grow in spirit, impact and numbers.
NEW MEMBERS- Sunday May 2 is our next edition of the NEW MEMBER CLASS that I will be leading from 9:45AM-11:45AM. Anyone considering joining should come to hear more about what membership at PARKSIDE is all about and how to join!
EVANGELISM FOCUS- I am looking so forward to hearing RICHARD TAYLOR preach and then lead us in our WITNESSING WORKSHOP on May 2. The workshop (2:30-4:30PM) will train us in how to share the good news about Jesus to those God intends for you to share with.
KIDS MINISTRY- Awana will finish up a great year of teaching kids the Bible and we will have a FAMILY DEDICATION of their kids on Mother’s Day, May 9th.
YOUTH MINISTRY- Our students will be finishing up their Wednesday Night THROWDOWN this month and we celebrate several students who became believers through this year’s ministry. Also, as our kids get ready for camp, you can help by coming to the BAKEOFF on May 2 at 4:30PM in the gym and making a generous donation to get students to YOUTH CAMP this summer. We will also be honoring our High School Seniors on May 16.
ADULTS- It is exciting to see our PACESETTERS back to regular meetings for our Senior Adults, and also exciting to see our two new YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL classes flourishing. If you have not found a Sunday School class that fits you, I invite you to consider joining my PASTOR’S CLASS that will begin on May 16th at 9:45AM in the Worship Center. Only folks not currently active in an adult Sunday School class are invited!
There truly are ways for everyone to get plugged into opportunities to find and take your next step with God here at Parkside. Find yours and be faithful!

Privileged to be your Pastor,
Pastor Jeff

After God's Own Heart
King David is one of the most beloved characters of the Bible. He was not a perfect person, but we do know that the Bible says he had a heart that was “after God’s own heart.” Our next sermon series is called AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART and we will see what the Bible says about a WOMAN after God’s own heart on Mother’s Day, followed by a KID and a MAN after God’s own heart the next two week. As the hearts of women, kids and men become more like God’s heart, we will see ourselves, our families and our community change for the glory of God. Join us starting May 9 and invite your friends and family to come with you!

KIDZ MINISTRY
Family Dedication
Family Dedication is one of the first steps we take in partnering with parents. This shared time is a beautiful expression for parents to publicly declare their intention to raise their child in a God-centered home and with the people of Parkside, as we declare together that we will all play a part in the spiritual formation of a child's life.
If you’re interested in participating contact Kathy Lovell at [email protected]
