St. Francis Xavier Families,

We has a busy week here with lots going on! MAP testing continued in the upper grades, drama practices began, and students enjoyed beautiful recess weather.

Please read carefully as there are a lot of coming dates and exciting opportunities! Please check your FACTS accounts as the planners have been billed. Extended care will be billed in the beginning of October.

Starting next week you will be receiving an email from your child's teacher regarding age appropriate conversations in the classroom regarding lockdowns and evacuations. I have asked each teacher to send an email making you aware of the language they plan to use with their classes. Teachers will start these conversations on Thursday and Friday with the students.

We respect parents are the primary teachers, and so we ask that if you choose to do so, you begin these conversations at home or you ask your child about what was talked about.

We take seriously your child's safety, and unfortunately we live in a world where these conversations in schools are necessary.

If we move in the direction of having a drill, we will make you aware prior to running the drill.

PARENT HOMEWORK EXTENDED!!!:

This year parent homework is electronic, and so all families need to log on to their FACTS Family Portal to review and make any necessary edits to emergency pickups, medical info, etc. on the Webforms directly.
**ALL Students and Parents MUST e-sign the Acknowledgement Webform found in the Family Portal for the handbook and tuition agreement.

Please complete/update all Webforms on FACTS ASAP

BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO SHUT THEM DOWN AFTER THIS WEEKEND :)

Students whose forms are NOT signed will be unable to return to school until the forms are completed. We need 100% compliance with signing the agreement forms.

If you are thinking you MIGHT want to volunteer at all this year (reading a story, fun Friday centers, field trips, field day etc.) you must complete the CORI process this fall. You will not be allowed to volunteer without this completed.

Next week students who need to complete the test will take the beginning of the year MAP assessment. Please make sure you child gets a good night sleep and eats a heathy breakfast the morning before! Also avoid tardy arrivals and early departures next week if at all possible.
