Business Person of the Year & Community Service Award Nominations Due Now

Get your nominations in now for the Ann Gibson Community Service Award Sponsored by Okaloosa Gas and the Business Person of the Year Sponsored by Trustmark! Nominations are due by Friday, Dec. 6, and the awards will be presented during the Jan. 23 Awards Party & Wine Pairing Dinner Presented by Trustmark.

Register and prepay for our 2025 breakfasts and lunches, and save $40! In 2025, we will have 10 breakfasts and two lunches. If you attend all of them, the total cost is $290. Mark your calendars! In 2025, breakfast dates are Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, and Nov. 14. In lieu of breakfast, we will hold our Great American Cookout on July 15, and our Bowling for Business Tournament & Lunch on Dec. 5.

In partnership with Florida Institute for Political Leadership (FIPL) and other local chambers, we are hosting a virtual Campaign School & Community Leadership Training Dec. 10 - 11, 2024, from 5:30 – 8 p.m., each day.

This no-cost and nonpartisan 2-day program is open to everyone and recommended for elected officials, current or future candidates, campaign workers, and anyone interested in serving in an appointed position. As we aim to secure Florida’s Future and move Florida’s economy from 17th largest in the world to 10th largest by 2030, it is necessary to ensure candidates running for office understand the issues facing Florida and our economic future. All campaign training schools will be conducted online.

Military Affairs Council (MAC) Meeting

Dr. Elvira Chiccarelli will present Women in the Military from WW II to Today. A longtime dentist in the Okaloosa-Walton area, Dr. Chiccarelli is retired Air Force and Air Force Reserve, where she also served as a dentist. In her local practice, she took care of the dental needs of children and adults on Medicaid, as well as dental insurance patients on group plans, such as Cigna, Delta Dental, and reserve military. She also taught hygiene and dental assisting programs in local colleges. Dr. Chiccarelli has served our community as a longtime member of the Air Force Armament Museum Foundation's Board of Directors.

Anyone with an interest in the military is invited to attend.
