Ken Wampler Named 2021 Business Person of the Year
During the Jan. 14 Business Before Hours & Annual Membership Meeting, Ken Wampler of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties was announced as the 2021 Destin Business Person of the Year. The award, sponsored by Trustmark National Bank, was presented to Wampler for his work in making Destin the best place to live, work and vacation.

Wampler joined the Newman-Dailey team in 2009 to head up business development and assist with the association management efforts. With a results-focused management career, he has used his 29 years of experience, including 12 years on the Emerald Coast, leading successful start-up, turnaround and high-growth club and resort operations. In addition to his other roles within the community, Wampler is the Chairman of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council and is a past Chairman of the Destin Chamber, where he served nine years on the Board of Directors.

In addition to the award, Trustmark presented Wampler with a $100 gift card to 790 and, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Destin, inoculated 200 children with the polio vaccine in his honor.
City of Destin Council to Host January 27 Visioning Session
The City of Destin will host a visioning session on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Destin City Hall Annex, located at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. Council, staff and members of the public will spend the day reviewing accomplishments, current projects, potential initiatives and refining a vision for Destin’s future. 

The meeting is open to the public. Video of the meeting will be uploaded and available for the public to view at the following link: www.youtube.com/CityofDestin.
