During the April 15 Destin City Council meeting, the council heard the second reading of Ordinance 19-­05-­LC­ Amending Article 7 of the Land Development Code to create a Harbor District overlay . At minute 45:54 , hear Destin Chamber President & CEO Shane A. Moody, CCE, FCCP, speak out in favor of a delay in passing this ordinance. He encouraged waiting until the livery vessel moratorium expires, parking solutions are identified, ongoing litigation is settled, and public input is provided. The ordinance did pass 5 - 2.

On April 23, Congressman Gaetz will host Academy Night at Navarre High School. This is an informational program on the Congressional Academy Application and Nomination Process.

Congressman Gaetz is also hosting a Congressional Art Competition: Scenes of Northwest Florida on Saturday, May 4, at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville.
