Seeking Sponsors for our November Business Before Hours & Ambassador of the Quarter Award

Check out these fun ways to promote your business! Breakfast sponsorship puts your company front-and-center before engaged community members and business professionals. You will have 5-8 minutes to speak before an average attendance of 125, plus you will be included in event promotions in the weeks leading up to the event. Our Nov. 8 breakfast will be held at Brotula's Seafood House & Steamer and will feature a military speaker.

Our Ambassadors are our most active volunteer group, welcoming new members, attending ribbon cuttings, helping with event set up, and more. Each quarter, we get to honor one of these dedicated professionals with the Ambassador of the Quarter recognition. We are seeking a business to partner with us in this endeavor by donating a prize to be awarded to the winner in front of our Business Before Hours audience. As the award sponsor, you will get to be on stage to present the prize.

If you are interested in either opportunity, please contact Gretchen at mail@DestinChamber.com or (850) 837-6241.

Vote 'Yes' on EDATE in November

EDATE, short for Economic Development Ad valorem Tax Exemption, is an economic development tool that Okaloosa County has utilized since 1981 to assist existing businesses with expansion and to attract new, higher paying jobs to our community.

EDATE was created by the Florida Legislature for use by local governments, provided that voters reauthorize the program every 10 years through local referendum. The current program sunsetted on Aug. 26, but thanks to the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners, we’ll have the opportunity to renew EDATE for another 10 years on the Nov. 5 ballot.

According to the University of West Florida Haas Center, EDATE has helped facilitate 317 direct and indirect jobs resulting in an additional $19.1 million in local payroll during the past 10 years, while providing a 663% return on investment to Okaloosa County. Learn more at www.jobsforokaloosa.com.

We do have EDATE yard signs available at the Chamber office, if you would like one for your home or business.
