Governor Issues New Executive Order Relating to Vaccine Administration
On Friday, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 21-46 regarding vaccine administration. That order did not expand any targeted populations at this time. What it appears to have done is to allow a broader range of medical professionals to vaccinate persons under 65 who are deemed to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. In addition to the current population allowed to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the following allowances were made under 21-46:
• In addition to hospital providers, physicians licensed under Chapters 458 and 459 FSS may also vaccinate persons whom they deem to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19, and
• Advanced Practice Nurses (APRN’s) licensed under Chapter 464 FSS and Pharmacists licensed under Chapter 465 FSS may vaccinate persons determined by a physician to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19.
