Dollars for Deacons Offering Is This Week Will Go to Storehouse

With the recent Federal government's food funding cuts and freezes, Storehouse West needs your help now more than ever with money to buy food! This month's offering is going to SHW to help. Envelopes at the door.

From Joy — Help is Still Needed for Communion Prep

We need a couple more people to help with this task. Volunteer rotation would typically occur every three months, and new folks would begin July 5th, the Saturday morning before Communion Sunday. Your job also would involve cleaning up after church the next day. If you'd like to serve your church in this way, please call the church office. Thank you!

March Financial Results

The General Operating Fund graph for March marks the end of the first quarter. The Finance Committee is pleased with the status of donations and expenses. There were several repairs needed for the riser room and approval of the alarm and fire suppression systems by the City.

We appreciate the Building & Grounds Committee addressing these issues.

We are a little behind in our per capita donations of $37 per member, but are making progress. We are very grateful for the continued support of our congregation as we manage church operations.

Pastor to People

We have some good news to report from Tuesday evening's Session meeting. Session has called for a congregational meeting on

May 4 to elect our Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). Our Session's

Nominating Committee will present seven names (to be published in next week's Witness) to serve as our PNC. This is an extremely important ministry that will require much time and thought and prayer. I hope all of you will pray for these seven wonderful people as they seek a new pastor for RRPC.

The Session also approved our Mission Discernment Profile (MDP) to send

to the Commission on the Ministry (COM) for their approval at their May 7 meeting. That MDP will then be sent to the General Assembly headquarters in Louisville, KY, where it will be disseminated in their computer database so that prospective ministers can read about our congregation.

At the Session meeting we also heard from Elder Beth Pacheck (from La Mesa Presbyterian) who will be our COM liaison to the PNC. She will guide their work. (Just so you know, the interim pastor has nothing to do with the PNC!) We have a very capable leader in Beth who will help our PNC get started soon on the right foot.

So there you have it! Some great news for our congregation. And some new acronyms to learn as well! This is an exciting time in this interim period. Now for the hard work and prayer and thought to bring a new pastor into our midst. Please pray for everyone involved in this vital ministry. I am happy for you as a congregation!

Peace and hope,

Frank
