Dollars for Deacons This Sunday
Our monthly Dollars for Deacons offering is taken on 3rd Sundays, and here we are already for this month. Donations are used for emergency assistance to church members, to help with the deacons' operating costs, and with the deacons' regular monthly donation to Storehouse West for assistance with their clients' utility bills. Your continued generosity in supporting the ministry of the deacons is greatly appreciated. Someone will hand you an envelope as you enter worship.

Pastor to People
Throughout my time in ministry I have felt a dual calling to the church
and to the academy. So I have served churches for 50 years and have taught in colleges part time for 45 years. I still feel that dual calling to bring the Good News outside the walls of the church into the public educational arena.
This spring I am teaching an online course at St. Norbert College on Systematic Theology. I got involved in this Masters of Theology program because Rev. Kay Huggins, your Pastor Emerita, invited me about 15 years ago. I enjoy teaching these students very much.
I also do lectures at the Oasis of Albuquerque program for adults. My next lecture is on the writings of Rev. William Sloan Coffin on Friday March 21 at 10am. You can go online and learn of the particulars. I have lectured in that program for almost 20 years.
I also teach in the UNM Continuing Education program. My next class will be the four Mondays in April, on the theologian Soren Kierkegaard. Again go online and you can find out more.
Next Thursday February 20 at 7pm I will be doing a lecture for the NM Interfaith Dialogue at Congregation Albert on Louisiana St. in Albuquerque. My lecture will be on the Theology of Hope by Jurgen Moltmann.
You are cordially invited to consider any of these for your own continuing education. I do feel it important to go into the public educational arena to bring theological insights for our community. This is my main form of community outreach, and it has been very meaningful for me all these years.
Let's continue to grow and learn and explore the faith together.
Peace,
Frank

Yoga-in-the-Sanctuary on Thursday Mornings
Gentle Movement: 10-11am
The Gentle Movement Class is great for anyone who is interested in improving strength, balance, and flexibility! Stretches and exercises are done while comfortably seated in a chair; then we progress to balancing and strengthening exercises while standing. If you're unable to stand, the entire class can be done while seated. Breathwork and mindfulness techniques are incorporated throughout the class to help relax the mind and body. The class wraps up with time in guided meditation.
Yoga for Balance and Flexibility: 11:30-12:30
The gentle mat yoga class focuses on improving balance, increasing flexibility, and relaxing the body and the mind! This is a great class for all skill levels; especially beginners or those who have never tried yoga.
Please bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket, and a water bottle to class.
The instructor is our church member Erin (Cato) Carrasco, PA-C, CHC, CYT. In addition to holding these credentials, Erin is a Certified Breathwork and Meditation Teacher, NASM-CPT, a Heartmath Certified Practitioner, and an EFT/TFT Tapping Practitioner.
Cost for each class: $10. **Please text or call Erin (505) 379-4131 by Wednesday evening if you plan to attend. This helps her know how many chairs to set up and how much floor space to clear for mats. Thank you!**
When class is in session, please do not interrupt or enter the sanctuary (between 10-11, or 11:30-12:30).
