Pastor to People
Dear RRPC Family and Friends,
This Sunday, May 10th, is Mother's Day. And what is in store for you at RRPC: The youth of our congregation will lead our worship service. Thanks to the leadership of Amanda Ball and Scott Roberts, the youth have met together to plan this service. I can't wait to hear them and see their lovely faces up front.
This is a wonderful tradition at RRPC and I am so glad to see it continued this year. I know that your new pastor Rev. Dr. Deborah Huggins is highly skilled in children and youth ministry. And I know she is excited to help revitalize that ministry in our congregation. RRPC has a rich history of children and youth ministry and I pray that it has a bright future among you. In fact, the Session made a decision to help refurbish the children's playground on the east side of our building. It reminds me of the story in Jeremiah 32 of the prophet buying a piece of land even while the Babylonian army surrounded Jerusalem. It was an act of hope in the future as Jeremiah 32: 15 states:
"For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land."
By God's grace, we will someday hear the sounds of children having fun again on that playground. Let us pray and work toward that goal!
Again, many thanks to Amanda and Scott and all our youth participating this Sunday. So let us support our youth this Mother's Day as they lead us in joyful worship.
Peace,
Frank

FLOWERS OR PLANTS
FOR CHURCH SERVICES
Please remember to sign up to enhance our sanctuary with flowers on Sunday! If you would like to provide flowers or a plant for a particular occasion such as birthday, anniversary, or to honor or remember an important person in your life, there is a signup sheet on the counter in the Narthex.
You bring one or two bunches of flowers or plants on Sunday morning to place on the stands at either pulpit or lectern and then take them home with you to enjoy all week. Or you could give them to a deacon to bless one of our shut-in members.
Thank you for helping us beautify our sanctuary!

May 13
Service of Justice and Hope
Wednesday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church
The church of Jesus Christ serves as the radiant light that creates the blueprints for a new world,
transforming strangers into neighbors who share a horizon of hope,
shaping every beam into a beacon of truth,
bending every ray toward human dignity,
and illuminating a future wide enough for every life to flourish.
You are invited to join us for this time of worship to be led by Rev. Dr. Rob Woodruff, as we seek to offer to the presbytery and to the world a place of welcome and inclusion where we are inspired and encouraged to persevere in shining God’s light and to embody the truths and teachings of Jesus Christ for the good of all humanity. If you are unable to worship with us in person, you can still participate through the livestream link at https://youtube.com/live/Qw6c9CDx1ZM.
It will be a blessing to worship with one another.
