October 30, 2025 Edition

This Sunday, November 2, 2025, is All Saints’ Sunday. It’s our parish’s patronal Sunday, where we honor our “Feast of Title.” We transfer the liturgy from the actual day of All Saints’, which is always November 1, to the nearest Sunday so that we may make that Sunday’s worship stand apart, to celebrate all the fellow saints that we see in worship, as well as those saints that we see no longer.

This year All Saints’ Sunday is even more special, as it is also the date of the visitation of The Rt. Rev. Jennifer Brooke-Davison, who will also be celebrating at both services. Click to continue reading Brian's article.

This Week

It's time to fall back! Daylight saving time (DST) ends in North America on Sunday, November 2 at 2 AM. So, remember to set your clocks back by one hour before you go to bed this Saturday night!

SEE YOU TONIGHT for this great opportunity to experience the welcoming and fun community at All Saints’! Donations can be made online in Realm (find "Scary Sketti" in the drop down menu) or in person tonight! Questions? Email Tiffany Fulton.

Many of you will have recently received your Estimate of Giving packet, and we hope you've had a moment to reflect on the grace and growth you've encountered through the ministry of All Saints'. As this season of gratitude continues, we invite you to take part in the Gratitude & Generosity – 2026 Annual Giving Campaign Survey. Your insights are deeply valued, and we encourage you to use both the mailed materials and the online giving calculator as you prayerfully consider your estimate of giving for the year ahead.

Your estimates play a crucial role in helping the vestry craft a thoughtful and sustainable financial plan that supports our shared mission in 2026.

All Saints’ Day is THIS Sunday, November 2. Join us in worship as we celebrate together and place our giving cards on the altar, affirming our collective commitment to this vibrant community. If you prefer, you may provide your estimate online. Estimate of giving cards are also available at both services.

The Piedmont Choral Society Chamber Choir invites you to a special program of choral selections entitled “Gather Us In: Music of Community and Gratitude” on Sunday, November 2 at 3:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 30 North Union Street, Concord, NC, 28025. No ticket is required. Please come enjoy this beautiful music as you prepare for the upcoming season of gratitude and celebration. Bring a friend!

Upcoming Opportunities

LAST CHANCES TO VOTE! If you live in a city or town in Cabarrus County, your last chances to vote early are Friday, 10/31, from 8 AM to 7 PM or Saturday, 11/1, from 8 AM to 3 PM. Early voting is at the Board of Elections office, 369 Church St N in Concord. This is also your last chance if you need to register and the easiest way to handle a change of address. Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, with voting from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM at your local precinct. When and wherever you vote, be sure to bring your photo ID.

Time is running out to sign up for the All Saints' Gatherings being held this Fall! We still have openings on November 4, 5, and 7 for a fun time with a few other parishioners, light refreshments, and a chance to learn more about what's happening during the transition after Rev Nancy's retirement. There are several ways to register: use this link, find the big QR code in the Welcome Center near the Community Gathering table, or ask the friendly person at the Gathering table to help you sign up. Don't miss out! During the week, contact Amanda, the church administrator, for help with Realm by emailing her or by calling 704-782-2024.

Dinner @ Mothers and Children Home | Are you able to help provide dinner for our neighbors, mothers and children, that are working towards independence and financial stability? In addition to providing food, we are welcome to eat with families, which is a joyful experience. The next opportunity is November 4. You can sign up here or contact Gary Kovar (contact info in realm).

All Saints' will offer Safe Church Training on Sunday, November 9, from 1-3:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Tiffany Fulton will host, along with discussion prompts, Q&A, and snacks! This is essential training for all youth and family volunteers, Stephen Ministers, Lay Eucharist Ministers, and all ministry leaders. Register for Safe Church training at All Saints'. Need help? Contact Amanda in the church office.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. As we thank God for the blessings of our life, what better to show our gratitude than by sharing with our neighbors! Many are food insecure and Thanksgiving presents special challenges to them. This year the likely suspension of SNAP (food stamp) benefits only adds to the food insecurity.

You can help by donating shelf stable items to Cooperative Christian Ministry’s food bank. Click to see items in demand.

Just bring donated items with you to church on Sunday, November 9 or November 16. Coincidentally, these are Nancy’s last two Sundays at All Saints’. Nancy has always been a vocal spokesperson for feeding the poor. Show her you have been listening and give generously. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, you can give by check payable to All Saints’ with “CCM Food Bank” on the memo line OR click to donate online (select CCM Food Bank for Fund).

Please note: there is no charge for the Celebration Dinner. But, we do need everyone to register on Realm, so we will have enough food. Amanda, our church administrator, can help you sign up for Realm and register for the dinner. Contact her via email at admin@allsaintsconcord.org or by calling 704-782-2024.

As our time with Reverend Nancy draws to a close, we have an opportunity to express our gratitude for her faithful ministry among us by presenting her with a retirement purse. In the Episcopal tradition, a “Purse” is a monetary gift made up of voluntary contributions from parish members. It is not designated for any particular purpose – it is simply a gift for Nancy to use freely as she begins her retirement.

If you would like to contribute to Nancy’s purse, you may do so by cash or by check made payable to Nancy Cox. Please place your contribution in an envelope and deposit it in the basket labeled “Purse,” which will be located at the entrance to the Parish Hall for the 9 AM service and at the back of the church for the 11:10 AM service. Please note that contributions cannot be made through REALM and, as these are personal gifts, they are not considered tax-deductible by the IRS.

Please make your contributions by Sunday, November 16, so that we may present the gift to Nancy upon her departure. Thank you for helping us honor Nancy’s dedicated service and ministry in this meaningful way. – With gratitude, Beth Simpson, Sr Warden
