February 5, 2026 Edition

This Week

In the parlor at 10:10 AM, this Sunday, February 8 and next Sunday, February 15, The Reverend Stephanie Nagley will lead a discussion on “Prophets and Politics: Following Jesus in Times of Turmoil.” The topic for discussion is drawn from our conversations in January about what people were looking for in Adult Formation on Sundays. These discussions revealed a desire to deepen faith and connect that faith to the present day so that we can enrich our understanding of the faith we share and develop ethical faith-based courage. What emerged from our conversations were four intersecting topics: Bible 101, Christianity and Colonialism, Christian Nationalism, and Neuroscience: How Our Brains are Wired Spiritually. We intend to take these topics and the interest that underlies each to develop a cohesive Adult Formation program going forward. You are invited to the first of these offerings this Sunday at 10:10 AM in the Church Parlor.

Upcoming Events

Opportunities to Serve at the Night Shelter in February | The night shelter still has several evenings between now and February 14 without a dinner sponsor. Any help would be deeply appreciated. All Saints' usually covers one week in August and one week in December, but support is needed throughout the year. Serving entails bringing or preparing enough food for 40 people, then serving that food at 7 PM. If you’re able to help, please reach out to Gary Kovar to get added to the schedule.

Want a great way to get to know people personally at All Saints'? Then, sign up for Fun, Food and Fellowship! It is a monthly “Supper club” for 6-8 people. It will start at the leader’s home, where they will provide the main course, and everyone attending will bring something to share. Find out more!

Got an electric griddle that we can borrow? Awesome! We need several more electric griddles to meet the pancake demand! (Ten or so would be great). Just drop your griddle off at church between now and Sunday, February 15! Griddles can be placed on the table near the pass through window in the Parish Hall. Please label or mark your griddle so we can return it to you. Thanks so much! Questions? Contact Director of Youth and Family Ministry Tiffany Fulton at 704-782-2024.

As we proceed in this interim period, one of the first steps to move forward is the vestry selecting a Rector Search Committee. You are invited to review the participant guidelines for the Search Committee. If you believe this is something you would like to do, please complete the form by February 22 to be considered.

After Dark @ All Saints' is back! Our annual community fundraiser will take place from February 19-March 1 this year. Click here for descriptions of the many fun and informative classes that will be offered. There is a link to the registration and payment page. This event offers you the opportunity to learn something new, have fun, and enjoy time with others, all while contributing to community organizations through our Outreach fund. Want to be part of making this fabulous event happen? You are invited to volunteer for an afternoon or evening (2 hours) to greet and check-in the participants. Sign up here

Don't forget non-perishable food! Every Sunday morning you can bring non-perishable food for our neighbors. Place food in the baskets in worship spaces or the food donations bin in the Welcome Center. Current needs are canned chicken, canned fruit, and tomato soup.

As part of All Saints' 2026 Annual Meeting held via Zoom on Sunday, January 25, parishioners were asked to respond to two questions with a word or phrase. We'd like to continue receiving feedback. So, if you weren't able to attend the Annual Meeting or didn't share your answers, please do! You can share by clicking here. The results are being tabulated and will be shared in an upcoming article. Here are the two questions:

  1. How can we make All Saints' more effective in ministry both personally and corporately?
  2. What qualities do you want in a new rector?

Prayer Requests

Prayer is the foundation of the ministry of this parish. If you would like to request prayers, please share here. If you are hospitalized, please let the church know. If you are unable to make the call yourself, ask for the chaplain on call and they will make it for you. The church phone number is 704-782-2024.

Prayers have been requested for Frank, De, and Tom.

If you or people you love are ill or hospitalized, it is our pleasure to support you with prayer and presence. We just need to know. So, please reach out and contact the church office (or call us at 704-782-2024). Alternatively, you can use the online prayer request form to let clergy and the prayer team know what you need.

The Lord be with you.
