Winter Light: The Brightness of Christ

Each Sunday of the Epiphany Season, January 5 through February 16, liturgy, prayers, hymns and messages will seek to reveal the light of Christ providing wisdom and guidance for our lives. Let us wonderfully reflect our faith into the world, sharing color, warmth and blessings.

Sunday Funday

Sunday, January 19 • 10:30 to 11:15 am

Kids aged Pre-K thru 5th grade are invited to our Sunday Funday PJ & Puppet Palooza. Wear your pajamas and join us for faith fun.

Winter Mini Ministry Fair

Sunday, January 26 • 10:30 am

The Winter Mini Ministry Fair is your chance to sign up for all sorts of ministry opportunities. Get information on ReCharge classes, music ensembles, volunteering, children & youth programing, and more! Stop by Baker Hall on the 26th and check it out.

Youth Funway Outing

Sunday, January 26

Baker Youth! Join us for an afternoon at Funway in Batavia on Sunday, January 26th. We will leave from the church at 11 am or you can arrive at Funway on your own. Bring money for food and activities. We will be finished at 2 pm and youth can be picked up at Funway. For grades 6-12. Sign up here. Questions? Contact Pastor Jenny.

United Women in Faith

January Circle Meetings

Lydia Circle's first gathering in 2025 will be Tuesday, January 28 at 6:30 pm in Wiley Hall. The program will be Conversations with Pastor Jenny. Appetizers, desserts, coffee and tea will be provided. All women and circles are welcome to attend!


The hostesses want to support Lazarus House with items found on their Urgent Needs List. To donate, take a look at the urgent needs list here. Bring your item(s) and your hostesses will deliver to Lazarus House.


Phoebe Circle meets on Wednesday, January 15 from 9:30-11:30 am in Wiley is our Midwest Mission Fabric Cutting Day. The cut fabric will be used to make Cover Them With Love Quilts. Please bring cutting scissors. If you have them, a rotary cutter and mat are even better.

Faith, Food & Fun

Wednesday, February 5 • 5:30 pm

Join us for an intergenerational evening with dinner, faith, and an activity for all ages. The theme is Love for Lazarus House. We will have a speaker and kids will make Valentine’s Day cards for the LH guests. The menu is Phoebe beef stew and valentine desserts. The evening begins with dinner at 5:30 and ends by 7 pm. Please sign up on the church app or here—it helps us plan. Free will offering.

Keep your brain and faith stimulated in the winter months with these upcoming learning opportunities from our Adult Recharge Ministries. Register through the church app, here or call 630.584.6680.


Book Discussion:

  • “The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone” by Heather McGee. Join Pastor David for an evening discussion on Tuesday, January 21, 7 pm in the Wesley Room. The book can be obtained via the library or local bookseller. Register through the church app or website.


Sunday Morning Small Groups:

  • “Looking Inward Living Outward: The Spiritual Practice of Social Transformation” by Daniel Wolbert. The four session study meets Sundays: February 2-23. “In a world of so much hurt, how can we create communities of care and healing? The study offers prayer and other specific spiritual practices empowering our acts of social transformation. The book can be ordered through the church office with participant registration. Sign up via the church app and website.


  • Faith in Life: Current happenings serve as the launch point for open discussions on how these might impact or influence our Christian communities. New topics are discussed each week so feel free to drop in at any time. In-person Sunday mornings.
