Dear OSLC members and friends,
When you awoke today, perhaps you heard on the news of another global tragedy. A 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit Afghanistan and now over 1,000 people are dead with numbers rising. The loss is devastating. We may see world events like this and immediately pray. There is truly great power in prayer and God does hear us. We may also wonder how to put our faith into action as well to bless a hurting world.

OSLC’s mission is to “demonstrate God’s love to all.” There are extremely powerful and tangible ways we are doing that every day and week. One of the ways we make a difference here is through our Mission and Outreach. We give away 11% of our collected offerings to ministries beyond our walls including: Valley Outreach, Guatemala, Open Hands Midway, Lutheran Disaster Relief, Wapo Bible camp, Planting Hope Campaign, Ukraine Relief, etc… Now that we are halfway through the year, I am thrilled to report that Our Savior’s has given $37,439 away to bless our hurting world. This video highlights places of impact and amounts. Click on this link to see how we are doing something to bless neighbors locally, regionally and globally:

Thank you for making an eternal significance in the lives of countless souls throughout the world. I am truly grateful for this congregation’s generosity of heart and helping hands.

Bible Study in the Park
All women of Our Savior’s are invited to the July 7 Bible Study in the Park. Our own Director of Youth and Family, Chad Larson, will lead the July study, which uses the concept of quilting to explore rest - “Quilt cutting and piecing,” explores how our lives and Christian communities come together into a cohesive whole, including people of all shapes and sizes, abilities and talents.
There will be a continental breakfast and the offering taken will go to Our Savior’s youth for their summer mission trip. The study will be held at Valley View Park, 5421 Osgood Avenue North, Oak Park Heights. Bring a friend and enjoy the fellowship and learning.
