Meditation Moment
From the Pastor...
"Be devoted to one another in love.
Honor one another above yourselves."
 (Romans 12:10)
Dear OSLC members and friends,

Remember the movie, “Pay it Forward?” A young boy wanted to intentionally spread kindness to others. We can make a difference—right where we are—with the people literally in our own backyards. In the book, “The Art of Neighboring,” Denver pastors had a Bible study in which they decided to take Jesus’ commission to “love your neighbor,” very seriously. They began to realize that if every follower of God were to love their neighbors in close proximity, it could make a positive impact.
Brian and I have been blessed with wonderful neighbors. When I had covid in May, they stopped by with a care package of pictures from their daughters, homemade bracelets, girl scout cookies and ramen noodles. A couple weeks ago, our neighbors then got covid so we returned in grace a care package that included Kleenex, soup and sidewalk chalk. Last night, they shared flowers from their garden as a thank you. We are amazed by their initiation of kindness, grace and love. When we feel discouraged by events happening in our world, these little day brighteners offer encouragement. May the love of Jesus so inspire us to call a neighbor, share a listening ear and offer grace to others. Let God’s light and love shine through you.
