We'd love for you to join us!

Here is a PDF of this Sunday's bulletin for you to enjoy.
From The Interim Rector

Dear All,

Bishop Brown has issued an official order suspending in person worship for all churches in our diocese at least until Jan. 11, 2021. Please note this includes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services.

Therefore:

  • We will immediately return to live stream worship only on Facebook Live
  • We strongly encourage everyone to follow the Governors stay at home order
  • If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

God bless,
Kim

Congratulations to our Parish family!

We are truly grateful for your participation in the Congregational Assessment Tool we sent out to help us determine the type of person we need for our next rector. There were 74 responses which is a VERY good rate of return. The people of St James always come through!

As we enter the season of Advent and preparation, the committee will start its work preparing for the next phase of the search process which will be receiving a report from Holy Cow on the survey results. Once that information is received, we will be reporting those results to all of you.

Again, THANK YOU for taking the time and energy to complete the survey.

Pledge to Support God's Ministry through St. James'

In this year’s pledge campaign, we are asking each individual or family to support the internal and external ministries of this church through tithing or proportional giving.

This is a friendly reminder to send us your pledge card. If you did not receive one, cards are available at church or you can call the office and we can mail you a new one.

Thank you for support God's work in the world through St. James'.
Reaching out to those in need this holiday season

In our St. James’ tradition, we ask you to consider how you might brighten someone’s holiday. 2020 has taken a toll on so many, especially the elderly, those with limited finances, and those without homes. Due to the Coronavirus, we need to make a few changes in how we answer that need. Please consider if either or both opportunities for giving might fit in your holiday giving plans this year:

Adopt-a-Family

We've overjoyed by the generous response we have received again this year for those in the Adopt-a-Family program.

Twenty long-time residents living at the Brandywine Nursing Home and who are without families will receive gifts from their Christmas wish lists thanks to your donations.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during this time.

A Prayer for the Third Sunday in Advent from the New Zealand Prayer Book

Almighty God,
you sent your servant John the Baptist
to prepare the way for the coming of your Son;
grant that those who proclaim your word
may so guide our feet into the way of peace,
that we may stand with confidence before him
when he comes in his glorious kingdom;
through Jesus Christ our Judge and our Redeemer.
Amen.
