MESSAGE FROM THE VESTRY

The Vestry continues to work with the Rev. Canon Martha Kirkpatrick in search of an interim rector. We will be sure to announce when we have new information to share.

We are looking ahead to the fall with great excitement! We would like to thank everyone who has stepped up to help in many different capacities whether it’s for the Blessing Bags put together by the youth, the Pastoral Care Team, the Worship Committee, or the volunteers for the Bazaar and Turkey Dinner.

At this season we are particularly grateful for those working to make the Bazaar and Turkey Dinner successful. Please see the information below and sign up to donate or volunteer on the sign up sheets in the Parish Hall. Your help is needed - and don't forget to buy your dinner tickets!

Volunteers are also needed to bring refreshments for the Sunday Hospitality Hour after the 10:15 a.m. services. This generous mission is greatly appreciated by everyone and, again, sign up sheets are in the Parish Hall.

It is wonderful to watch the congregation come together and support our ministries and each other. Thank you all!

Faithfully,
The Vestry
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6
In remembrance of Saint Francis of Assisi, there will be a Blessing of the Animals at the 10:15 a.m. service. Saint Francis tamed a wild wolf and preached to the birds. In a similar vein, we encourage peace among all our brother and sister creatures, and pray for all the animals that are entrusted to our care.

You are welcome to bring your pet into the church for the 10:15 a.m. service as long as it is properly restrained (leash, cage, etc.) and it generally plays well with other members of the animal kingdom. If an actual animated animal is not available, or it is not feasible to bring the animal in your care, then a plush toy animal or even a photo may be brought to the service instead.
DID YOU KNOW?
September Visitors!

The tall plants at the entrance to the Parish House are Milkweed and at this time of year they attract large numbers of bugs called, yes, Milkweed Bugs! Milkweed flowers attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators and when the plants develop seed pods the Milkweed Bugs, herbivores, love to eat the seeds.
