From Valerie Brunson:

Family Promise Host Week

We are in desperate need of volunteers to provide dinners during our Family Promise host week starting August 23, 2020.  We need dinners for:
  • Saturday 8/29
If you can't provide the entire meal, but wish to donate a part of the meal, please let us know. For those not comfortable delivering food, we can arrange to have it delivered. Monetary donations are also being accepted for purchasing of food and supplies. Please contact Val Brunson, Dave Perry, Eileen Marvel, or Nancy Prettyman if you have any questions.

We will be reaching out to our dinner volunteers closer to time to coordinate and provide more detailed instructions. Thanks for your help.

Your Family Promise Coordinators
Dave Perry, Eileen Marvel, Nancy Prettyman, and Val Brunson

A Prayer from St. Augustine’s Prayer Book

Grant us patience, O Lord, to follow the road you have taken. Let our confidence not rest in our own understanding but in your guiding hand; let our desires not be for our own comfort, but for the joy of your kingdom; for your cross is our hope and our joy now and unto the day of eternity. Amen.

A note from your Warden

  • Your safety is our top priority
  • No one should feel obligated to attend in person. If you are not comfortable being around others, it is okay to stay at home.
  • On-line services will continue to be available through Facebook Live.
  • We will do our best to make it smooth, but there may be some kinks at first. We appreciate your patience when this process starts.

From Cynde Bimbi:

Led by the United Way of Delaware and YWCA Delaware, the challenge is a state-wide journey (never leaving our homes) into the history of racism here at home in Delaware. The Episcopal Church in Delaware is a partner (a “challenge champion”) in this effort. A personal commitment of time (5-30 minutes a day for three weeks), an internet connection, and openness to learning are all that are required. Read more here.

From Bruce Vrana:

You are invited to a virtual coffee hour following worship at St. James’ Mill Creek, beginning approximately 15 minutes after service concludes. So after service is over, grab a beverage or snack and connect to your church family. All are welcome.
