From Valerie Brunson:

The Vestry has formed a St.James COVID19 Task Force. Our primary concern is for the health and well-being of our congregation, our employees, and all who use our facilities.  As restrictions start to loosen, we will be working to coordinate the return to the 'new normal' in a way that keeps everyone safe. We will be communicating with you on a regular basis to bring you the latest updates and provide guidance on how best to proceed.

Current Status:
Services will continue to be on-line only until further notice. Bishop Brown and the Diocesan “New Normal” Task Force will be reviewing the situation on June 1st to determine next steps.

More Information:
Governor Carney has put out additional guidance for Houses of Worship, which can be found at  https://news.delaware.gov/2020/05/18/governor-carney-issues-guidance-for-churches-houses-of-worship/ . Many communities of faith are finding these restrictions severely limit what is permitted at in-person services.

Please feel free to reach out to a member of the COVID19 Task Force should you have any questions or concerns. Thanks.

From Cindy Fauerbach:

Emmanuel Dining Room update

Our day to provide lunch at the Walnut Street Emmanuel Dining Room (EDR) is this Sunday, May 31st. Sadly, due to the Corvid-19, we are still not able to actually "serve lunch" in the dining room. The EDR staff continues preparing and serving lunch as a "take away" meal. The need has grown and most days they provide meals for over 225 people.

Thanks to your continued generosity, we have donated the ingredients for the May 31st lunch: turkey meatballs with sauce and roll (for a meatball sub), banana, a bag of chips, a bag of cookie snacks, a Hershey's kiss or mints, and a bottle of water.

In a heartwarming outpouring of community support and giving, many individuals and groups have been making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So each person is also able to take a lunch bag that includes a PBJ sandwich, bottle of water, and crackers to eat later in the day. We also donated crackers to be added in the "extra lunch bag" and snack sized cereal boxes for families and children.

If you would like to donate money to help cover the costs of this and/or future meals, please send a check into the office and note EDR in the memo.

We hope that by our next lunch on July 31st, we'll be able to bring, prepare, and serve at the dining room. But, if that's not possible, we'll be ready to supply the ingredients for a wholesome meal.

Many thanks,
Pat Minor, Ginny Dennis, Gail Coverdale, Lynn Morgan, Jerry Clark, and Cindy Fauerbach
