with Pastor Matt Knopf

American Heritage Series

with Steve Zangle

Wednesday, May 7 through July 23

No class on July 16 during VBX

1:00-2:oopm, Room A

Why does history matter? This video series joins Wallbuilders founder, David Barton, looking at the forgotten founding Biblical principles upon which America was created. We will be introduced to many of our founders and heroes. Many were God-fearing leaders who believed that biblical principles should form the underpinnings of our government and Constitution. This is your heritage!

Steve and Joyce Zangle have visited over 300 sites all over the 13 colonies from Georgia to New Hampshire and have pictures and books to share. The class handouts are designed to help you recall the information discussed. Share them with a friend. Better yet, bring a friend with you!

Bagels & Bible Study

Favorite Bible Stories returns

with Liz Lucas

Five Sundays, June 1 through June 29

10:30-11:30am, Room A

Feed your soul and your body at the same time! Bagels with a variety of spreads will be available for you to enjoy while you learn the whole story of some Bible classics, from Noah's Ark to The Good Samaritan, etc.

Sign up for any class here.

Baptism Orientation

Baptism is a free gift of God in which He brings us into a relationship with Himself and makes us a part of His family! In the Lutheran Church, baptism is a sacrament.

We welcome your child or any adult who wishes to be baptized. Have your questions answered at the next orientation on Sunday, May 11 at 9:15am in the Conference Room of the Church office, facilitated by Don Burgess. Free childcare is available.

Answers to Trivia Questions

Where is this piece of stained glass located in the Sanctuary? What is depicted on it?

John is located on the north wall of the sanctuary, on the east end of the four Gospel authors.

John is portrayed differently than the other Gospel writers. He stands on the clouds, reflecting the deeply theological aspects of his Gospel. The eagle is John’s symbol because his Gospel seems to soar 'on eagle’s wings.'

How did the author of John refer to himself?

The author of the book of John referred to himself as the 'the disciple whom Jesus loved.'  John’s Gospel differs from Matthew, Mark and Luke in the fact that it does not contain the same stories or the same chronology.

Who was ordered to carry the cross behind Jesus?

Simon of Cyrene was ordered to carry the cross of Jesus on the way to Golgotha.
