Our NEW La Casa de Cristo Magazine!

We have exciting news to share! With all we have going on here at La Casa de Cristo, we have a new way of getting information to you!

Angie Campos has created a magazine which has all classes, events, ministries, and ways to serve from August through December 2026. You will want to share it with family and friends to let them know of all that we have to offer in this community. Pick up your copy at the table outside after services this coming weekend, August 8/9.

It has been a sunny, sweltering, steamy Summer of Service in Scottsdale! And look at all you've been a part of...

Water Drive - We collected 28,536 bottles in support of Phoenix Rescue Mission's 'Code Red' due to your generosity.

Vacation Bible Xperience - 315 children and 165 volunteers learned, played and had the adventure of their lives!

Eagle's Nest Thrift Shop - The all volunteer run thrift shop in Campo Bello Elementary School requested donations, and you all came through with everything to stock the store for Campo Bello families to shop. All proceeds will go toward school activities! A win-win!

PB&J Drive - We don't know what to say, but THANK YOU! The mounds of peanut butter and jelly you donated totalled 4,100 pounds! That's almost 1,500 pounds more than last year!

Mexico Mission Trip - While the La Casa team was in Atlacomulco Mexico, we had the wonderful opportunity to serve our partners in the Mazahua Valley Ministry. Our team assisted students with reading and writing English, as well as understanding the numerous grammatical nuances of the English language. We facilitated a baseball clinic which taught children basic skills of the sport, which they demonstrated by playing a game at the end of the week. Additionally, some team members reconstructed a wooden playground to ensure it was safe for the students to use. This trip was an incredible opportunity for our team to strengthen our relationship with God and create relationships amongst our team and with our brothers and sisters in the Mazahua Valley Ministry.

MOMS Meet-ups - What a blast our moms and children had this summer! We played in the cool of the Gathering Place, enjoying each other's company and deepening friendships. Women from several different churches joined us and some participated in a t-shirt quilting project. Jessica shared: "MOMS meet-ups have been a huge blessing to me and my children; it’s a great way to get out of the house and to meet new friends, even when it’s 115° outside!"

Mac 'n Cheese - The 2026 challenge has begun. We are aiming to beat last year's total of 20,668 boxes. It's on!!

Palomino Primary School Reading Program

Our K-1 students made great progress this past school year at Palomino Primary School due to the consistent, daily presence of our volunteers. We will continue to help in Kindergarten through third grade, tutoring one-on-one or in small groups, helping the students gain fundamental early literacy skills necessary to succeed in school.

That's where YOU come in! We are in need of new volunteers for Fall 2026. We will tutor in first grade from 11:30-2:00 and in Kindergarten from 1:00-2:30. No experience necessary, and training is provided. If you can help one or two days a week for 2-4 hours, please contact Esther Kovacs, ejk4242@yahoo.com or 480-544-0552. Thank you!

Stephen Ministry

You’ve probably seen, on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, church members wearing name tags that say “Stephen Minister.”

Their names are not all “Stephen,” so what goes?

Stephen Ministry is a non-denominational, international ministry that trains congregation members to listen, care, pray, encourage, and walk alongside people who are going through a difficult time. It isn’t therapy, but just care and support, and it’s confidential. If you are in need of support, call the church office at 480-948-1234 to be connected with the person God has in mind for you. And if you see a “Stephen” after church, go say hello!

Eagle's Nest Thrift Shop

La Casa family,

Thank you for all of the wonderful donations for the Eagle's Nest Thrift Shop at Campo Bello Elementary School! Our shelves and racks were pretty bare, so this truly helped us to start the school year right!  We accept donations EVERY Wednesday (8a-12 noon) throughout the school year (except when closed for holidays), so PLEASE continue to donate throughout the year.
