'At the Intersection of Church and State'

with Rev. Dr. Wayne Wilke

Sundays, August 18 - Sept 29, 10:30am, Room B

No class on Sept 1 (Labor Day Weekend)

This is NOT a class about contemporary politics, but we WILL explore, examine, and discuss a variety of issues that collide at the intersection of church and state. For more information on this class and to sign up for any of our upcoming fall classes, click here.

Journey Through Bethlehem 2024

If you have never been involved with Journey Through Bethlehem, or if you are a seasoned veteran of this production, we invite you to an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall to learn all about how you can become involved in this wonderful Christmas story which takes place every other year at La Casa de Cristo. Youth and adults are welcome to join us.

Those interested in being in the JTB cast must register here. Auditions are on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30pm.

Royal Family Kids Mentor Club

Each year, a group of foster children attends Royal Family Kids Camp in northern Arizona where they make new friends and are treated to a week of fun, activities, and a huge birthday celebration! They then have an opportunity to develop those friendships at the monthly RFK Mentor Club held at La Casa de Cristo. In order for us to accommodate a larger number of kids, we need volunteers who would love to make a difference in the lives of these young people.

At an upcoming training session on Saturday, August 24, 9am-12pm, in Room B, you will learn all about Mentor Club and how you can partner with this essential ministry. All volunteers are required to fill out the application at this link.

Trivia Answers from

July Cristo Connection

Where is this piece of stained glass located and who is depicted on it?

This stained glass of St. Mark is located on the north side of the Sanctuary, second from left. He is shown with his symbol, the lion. Mark, the earliest Gospel, is depicted in the book form rather than a scroll in keeping with the Gothic influence (1150-1550) on Christian art. The blue sky represents heaven as well as wisdom, charity, and hope.

What is St. Mark's symbol? The lion

How many boxes of Mac 'n Cheese were collected last year?

Our amazing congregation donated 12,764 boxes of Mac 'n Cheese last August, smashing the previous year's total, which filled the shelves of the PV Community Food Bank.
