Vacation Bible Xperience

VBX 2024- Above the Treetops (July 15-19) is about to begin and we cannot WAIT!

We are SO excited to have families from our community attend VBX to experience God’s great love.

Here are a few ways you can participate in the week, even from afar.

1) Pray. First, we ask that you pray for the families coming to our campus. Many have never heard about Jesus and we want them to walk away knowing He loves them. Second, please pray for our 175 volunteers that make this week run smoothly. We truly couldn’t do it without them!

2) Donate. We are collecting plastic jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly to benefit the PV Community Food Bank. Help us make a huge difference in the community around us. Please bring donations in anytime during the month of the July.

3) Watch. Even from afar, you can be part of VBX. Each morning, we will livestream our opening ceremonies (at approx. 9:15am) as all of the kids join together in worship. On Friday, July 15 at 5:30pm we will also be streaming our closing program where we recap the week and get to watch the kids sing. You can watch on any of our streaming platforms and we hope you will join us!

We are excited for a great week to see the amazing things God continues to do on our campus. Thank YOU for being part of it, near or far.

Installation of VBX Volunteers will take place at each service this weekend.

Adult Ed Open House on August 11

We hope to see all of you at the upcoming Open House to meet the instructors and learn about the classes planned for the remainder of the Summer and into Fall. There will also be information on small groups.

Come enjoy breakfast treats and coffee as we reconnect with one another. If you have never been involved with Adult Ed, we look forward to meeting you.

Mark your calendar for August 11, any time between 9am and 12pm in Room A in the Fellowship Hall building.

Middle School and High School Open House on August 11

Parents of students in 6th grade through 12th grade! Come to the Open House with your middle and high schoolers to find out all that we have planned for the coming year. Learn about the new curriculum for all ages, Confirmation classes, all of the fun events to participate in, and ways we can partner with you in this faith journey.

Please contact either Suzan Scudder or Ryan Callahan with any questions.

Answers to Trivia Questions from July Cristo Connection

This stained glass, The Anchor, is located on the east side of the sanctuary, high on the south wall near the organ pipes, second from the left. The anchor cross is a symbol of the hope, the stability and the security that Christians have in Christ from Hebrews 6:19. This symbol dates back to the first century and has been found in the catacombs.

What is inscribed on the Liberty Bell?

A passage from Leviticus 25:10 "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

The bell in the prayer tower at La Casa de Cristo comes from where?

The La Casa de Cristo bell was manufactured by Royal Eijsbouts of The Netherlands. The bell is cast in bronze, four feet in height, three and a half feet wide, weighing 1,643 lbs. The bell has a design of dogs and lilies with the inscription, “Oh come little children; oh come one and all.” It was donated by church member, Ron Nickel, in memory of his late wife, Joan.
