High School Summer Trip

This coming week, our high schoolers will head to a Christian Camp in California. Please pray for their safety as they travel to and from the camp, and for their hearts as they seek to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Lord, we ask for your protection over the entire group of leaders and students, that they all will stay well and safe over the course of the week. May they shine their lights to all they encounter. In Jesus' name. Amen!

St. Vincent de Paul

There are 13 spots open for volunteers to serve at St. Vincent de Paul on Sun., August 3rd. This is a rewarding monthly opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus! A group goes to the Phoenix dining room located at 1300 W. Harrison St., Phoenix 85007, and they prep and serve, then clean up after the noon meal on the first Sunday of every month. Bring your spouse, a teen who needs service hours, or a friend, and make new friends who have a heart to serve!

After you register, you will receive an email from Luann Helepololei (Lch03@aol.com) with the gate code to enter the SVdP parking lot, and any other instructions you may need. However, if you would like to ride with someone who is leaving from the church after the 8am service, please let Luann know.

Baptism Orientation

Baptism is a free gift of God in which He brings us into a relationship with Himself and makes us a part of His family! In the Lutheran Church, baptism is a sacrament.

We welcome your child or any adult who wishes to be baptized. Have your questions answered at the next orientation on Sunday, August 10 at 9:15am in the Conference Room of the Church office, facilitated by Don Burgess. Free childcare is available.

Altar Flowers

Thinking about honoring a loved one with flowers on the altar? Cactus Flower Florist does a wonderful job of arranging the beautiful flowers we get to enjoy each week in our Sanctuary. There are several dates available for 2025:

Aug 23/24, 30/31 - Two arrangements each weekend

Sept 6/7, 13/14, 20/21 - One arrangement each weekend

Sept 27/28 - Two arrangements

Oct 4/5 - One arrangement

Oct 11/12 - Two arrangements

Each arrangement is $55.00. You may purchase one or both, depending on availability. 2026 dates are also available now.

Your dedication will appear on the back of the bulletin for the day you selected. Then you may take the arrangements home to enjoy after the 9:15am service. When it's convenient for you, simply return the empty vase to the office which is then picked up by Cactus Flower to use again. Peanut Butter & Jelly offering

“Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.” – Deuteronomy 16:17

As an act of worship, we lay gifts of offering before the Lord. At La Casa de Cristo, this goes beyond financial giving. We are a church who encourages giving through time, talents, and resources. At times, we also do special collections for those in need around us. These are all ways that we worship and show devotion towards our God. Currently, we are inviting you into an opportunity to give a specific item in an offering of worship to the Lord: Peanut Butter and Jelly. We are participating in this special offering throughout the entire month of July. Our VBX kids are participating in the collection right now as well.

Prayerfully consider what you might want to contribute to this special offering. If you would like to bring Peanut Butter and Jelly (plastic jars only) this month, please bring it to worship. Bring it forth during the offering time and add it to the collection that we have up front in the main Sanctuary and the Gathering Place. Make this act a part of your worship. All donations will be given to the Paradise Valley Community Food Bank at the end of the month.
