PV Community Food Bank
Thank you to ALL who faithfully donate to the food bank and to those who deliver the food each week. We are blessed by your generosity!
This all-volunteer organization, PV Community Food Bank, began in 1986 with its founders and others collecting food and distributing it from their garages to families in need. They currently serve thousands each year and they are grateful for our partnership with them to keep their shelves full. Their web site lists critical needs such as peanut butter, tuna, canned chicken, pasta, cereal, etc., but all donations of food are always welcome. (Please, no glass jars.) Monetary donations that they receive are NOT used for toiletries, so things like toilet tissue, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc. are especially needed and appreciated.
During July, in addition to the usual food items, we will be collecting Peanut Butter & Jelly in plastic containers. During the month of August, La Casa de Cristo will hold our annual Mac 'n Cheese drive, which is a phenomenal success each year! Our friends at the food bank look forward to the deliveries each week.
How to serve? We have many spots available for those of you who would like to get involved in the delivery once in a while. Open dates include the weeks of July 8, 15, and 29, and all of August. ***Fair warning: there will be a LOT of Mac 'n Cheese, so only raise your hand if you have a larger vehicle to transport all those boxes! Please sign up here or call the office and we will help you.
