Serve at St. Vincent de Paul

Sunday, April 6 at 9:30am

There are 12 spots left to serve at St. Vincent de Paul on Sunday, April 6th. This is a rewarding monthly opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus! A group goes to the Phoenix dining room located at 1300 W. Harrison St., Phoenix 85007, and they prep and serve, then clean up after the noon meal on the first Sunday of every month. Bring your spouse, a teen who needs service hours, or a friend, and make new friends who have a heart to serve!

After you register, you will receive an email from Luann Helepololei (Lch03@aol.com) with the gate code to enter the SVdP parking lot, and any other instructions you may need. However, if you would like to ride with someone who is leaving from the church after the 8am service, please let Luann know.

For more information and to register, click here.

Answers to Trivia Questions

Where is this piece of stained glass located in the Sanctuary? What is depicted on it?

The Clover is located high on the south side of the Sanctuary on the east wall, first from the right. The shamrock, a form of a clover, with each leaflet in groups of three, is a symbol of the Trinity. It was used by Saint Patrick, a missionary to the Irish in the 5th century, to explain the Trinity, one God in three.

Where was Saint Patrick born?

Saint Patrick was born in Dumbarton, Scotland. At around 14 years of age, Patrick was captured and taken to Ireland as a slave until he was 20 years old. He studied for the priesthood and was called back to Ireland to spread the Gospel which he did for 40 years, converting Ireland to Christianity. 38% answered this correctly.

What did Saint Patrick say about the clover?

The three-leaf clover represents the Holy Trinity. Saint Patrick used it as a tool to explain the Holy Trinity.
