Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack

Feed My Starving Children relies on volunteers to pack scientifically-designed meals to combat starvation of children around the world. Their food contains rice, vitamins, veggies, and soy and is shipped to 70 different countries.

La Casa de Cristo is hosting another FMSC food packing event in the Gathering Place on Dec. 14th and 15th. (Set-up day is Friday, Dec. 13th, and we can use your help for a couple of hours.) This is a fun, team-building event, so bring your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors! Minimum age is 5 years old with adult supervision. Dress up, or come as you are. Closed-toe shoes are required. There are jobs of all kinds, so if you cannot stand for a long period of time, there are 'sit-down' jobs as well.

Sign up here a.s.a.p. to be blessed as you bless others!

Be sure to read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about packing when you click the link above.

Can't attend the packing event? Please prayerfully consider donating to help offset the cost of the meals we pack. The cost of feeding a child for a year is $106, but any amount is appreciated. Click here, then select Feed My Starving Children from the drop down 'Fund' box. Thank you!

Survey 'Bites'

The Next 50 Survey was designed to gather insights from the La Casa de Cristo community about the church’s current state and future direction over the next 50 years. Conducted from May to September 2024, the survey attracted over 550 responses, providing a wealth of data about the church’s demographics, membership experiences, and expectations for the future. This is an incredible response, noting that other similar organizations typically bring in lower response rates, comparing percentages. The fact that about half of our weekly worship attendance filled out the survey showed that our members are engaged and ready to contribute to the life of the church. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary year here at the church, please watch this spot in our electronic news for more survey result information. Thank you to all who shared their voice to help guide our church!

Trivia Answers

Where is this piece of stained glass located in the Sanctuary and what is depicted on it? The Bulrush stained glass is located on the south side of the Narthex in the hallway. The bulrush is a plant that grows in clusters around marshes and water. It is a symbol of God's faithfulness and protection because it was instrumental in saving the infant Moses' life from the story in Exodus 2:3.

What did George Washington proclaim on October 3, 1789? His proclamation was to recognize November 26 as a day of Thanksgiving and prayer for the many favors of Almighty God. It wasn't until 1941 when Congress declared that the official holiday would be on the fourth Thursday of each November.

In 1975, when La Casa de Cristo was founded, what was the average cost of a gallon of gasoline? It was 57 cents; adjusted in today's dollars, that is $3.38 per gallon!
