Medicare 101 and

Mobile On-site Mammograms

On Sunday, Oct. 6th, there will be a presentation on Medicare 101. No need to register. Just come to the Fellowship Hall at 9:15am to learn the ABC’s of Medicare.

Then, on Oct. 13th, the Mobile Mammography bus will be here at La Casa de Cristo from 8am-12pm. We accept patients 35 years or older, or you will need to provide a doctor's referral if you are younger than 35. Book your appointment by calling 480-967-3767. You will need to provide your doctor's name and address, insurance card and location of prior mammogram films. 15 minutes could save your life!

Swap 'N Shop

Swap 'N Shop (formerly Shop It for Your Moppet) is our annual FREE exchange of gently used children's clothing, shoes, toys, books, and accessories with other moms.

PLEASE, NO ADULT CLOTHING OR HOUSEWARES!

To participate, bring your donations on Oct. 16, 17, or 18 and receive a ticket to shop the day of the event. Moms expecting their first child need not bring items to exchange, but must stop by during one of the drop-off times to get a ticket for participation.

What to swap: All gently used items in clean, good condition

• Children's clothes: sizes newborn to 16xl
• Children's shoes
• Kids' accessories, sports gear, costumes/dress-up
• Toys, games, books, movies, music, video games
• Unopened baby formula, food, diapers and wipes
• Baby care items and maternity clothes

We need help sorting and displaying all items prior to the event. There are four dates: Oct. 16, 17 and 18 for sorting, and Oct. 19 for help on the event day. Sign up here.

Blood Drive - Save lives!

Join us at our next American Red Cross Blood Drive, which takes place on Saturday, October 26, 7:30am until 12:30pm. By appointment only. No walk-ins.

Let's try to reach 100 units this month! Don't wait to select your donation time. To sign up for the blood drive, go to the Red Cross website (redcrossblood.org) and under “ZIP or Sponsor Code” enter lacasadecristo (all one word) and hit 'Find a Drive.' From there select the donation date and then time that works for your schedule.

REMINDER: Eat a hearty breakfast and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating. We will serve warm breakfast burritos at the blood drive.
