Baptism Orientation

Baptism is a free gift of God in which He brings us into a relationship with Himself and makes us a part of His family! In the Lutheran Church, baptism is a sacrament.

We welcome your child or any adult who wishes to be baptized. Have your questions answered at one of the next orientations, either on Sunday, November 9 at 9:15am or Sunday, December 14 at 9:15am in the Conference Room of the Church office, facilitated by Don Burgess. Free childcare is available.

Medicare Fraud presented by Bill Blaney

November 9, 10:30am, Room A - Just drop in!

If you have Medicare, you can protect your identity and help prevent health care fraud by guarding your Medicare card like you would a credit card. Identity theft from stolen Medicare numbers is becoming more common. Bill Blaney presents this and more in his seminar about Medicare Fraud.

PV Community Food Bank

Needs for November

Thank you all for your ongoing generosity to bless the needs of our community!! The PV Community Food Bank is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity serving individuals and families who live within the Paradise Valley Unified School District boundaries. The district covers 98 square miles and includes the Palomino neighborhood, the lowest income, and the highest poverty rate community in the Northeast Valley, along with 17 Title 1 schools. The food bank relies on private cash contributions and food donations from businesses and individuals like YOU, without relying on government funding.

La Casa de Cristo was featured in the Fall Newsletter of PVCFB, due to the record breaking food drives we had this summer! Click here to read more!

November's focus will be non-perishable Thanksgiving items, such as canned vegetables and fruit, boxed or bagged stuffing, boxed mashed potatoes, canned gravy (or packets), cornbread mix, etc. No fresh meat, No fresh veggies/fruit. Please, NO GLASS JARS.

If you cannot get out to shop, please consider making a donation on our GIVE page (select FOOD BANK from the drop down menu), and PVCFB will do the shopping for you!

Lutheran Disaster Response

As always, La Casa de Cristo responds to needs locally, nationally, and worldwide. If you would like to contribute to Lutheran Disaster Response to assist those in Jamaica and related islands devastated by one of the worst storms in history, all contributions through November 7th to our Good Samaritan Fund (click here) will go to LDR. If contributing by check in the offering plate, or mailing or dropping off to the church office, please mark in memo field “Disaster Response” and make check out to La Casa de Cristo.
