Veterans Breakfast

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30am for coffee, breakfast at 8am, and then hear the story of our speaker, U.S. Army Captain, Wanona "Winnie" Fritz.

Space is limited. Sign up here.

Men's Galatians Bible Study

Join church member Chad Haarer in a casual but worth-while discussion on the Book of Galatians. This new men’s group will meet at Einstein Bagels at 23079 N. Scottsdale Rd. (and Pinnacle Peak) beginning Saturday, October 12, at 7:00am. They will start out meeting every other week and then the group can help determine the future schedule.

All men are welcome. Pick up a copy of Luther’s commentary on Galatians here, as this will be used as a part of the discussion.

Confirmation, Reformation & All Saints

La Casa de Cristo has 3 very special weekends coming up!

Confirmation takes place the weekend of Oct. 19-20, and it is one of the most important times in the life of our church. It is our privilege and joy to celebrate our young people as they take the next step in their walk with the Lord, in a Confirmation ceremony at 1 pm Sunday, Oct. 20. Please keep the students in your prayers as they prepare to lead us in Saturday evening and Sunday morning worship. All services take place in the Sanctuary.

Reformation is celebrated the weekend of Oct. 26-27. Don't forget to wear red!

All Saints is a sacred time to celebrate our loved ones who have gone to be with our Lord. During each service on the weekend of Nov. 2-3, we will remember those who have passed since last year, and then there will be a special service in the Memorial Garden on Sunday, Nov. 3 at noon for the family members of those loved ones.

Royal Family Kids Camp Appreciation Dinner and Information Night

This event is designed to include family and friends to share the great things we are able to do for the foster care community. If you know someone who has experienced your passion for this ministry, and who wants to learn more about RFKC, invite them along! Don't miss out!

Trivia Answers from

October's Cristo Connection

Where is this piece of stained glass located in the Sanctuary? And what is depicted on it? Ministry Stained Glass

The Ministry Stained Glass is located on the south side of the Narthex in the hallway. The cross here is surrounded by hands reaching out to one another in service and reconciliation. Believers in Christ Jesus learn both to graciously minister to others and to humbly receive ministry. Amen!

What invention fanned the flame of religious change during the Reformation? The Movable Printing Press. This device revolutionized the way people communicated with each other. Martin Luther effectively used this technology for his teachings and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On what date did Martin Luther post the 95 Theses?

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany.

Read the 95 Theses here.

Thank you

I want to thank all the La Casa de Cristo pastoral staff and parish nurse for all their prayers and support for Kerry and I. Much appreciation, as well, for the La Casa family and friends for their prayers, sympathy cards, calls and visits. Kerry and I always considered all of you as our family. It mean everything to us.
