The Nativity Pageant is this Sunday
The St. Barnabas nativity pageant is this Sunday! This year, Adelaide Mueller and Annie Thorp will be taking the reins to organize a spirited celebration, with some new ideas (thank you to Father Sandy for a new script!) and updates to this beloved tradition.

Through their recruitment efforts we have 45 Cast members participating this year!

Please come and join us as our youth teach us the nativity story.
Saturday, December 14th at 10am -
Rehearsal & costume fitting with  all participants .
Speakers may be asked to stay a bit later (11-noon) to continue rehearsing. If we go late, lunch will be provided!

Sunday, December 15th - Pageant!
The cast is asked to please arrive by 9:15 a.m. to dress and prepare for
the 10:00 a.m. service
Some key notes:

  • We are also seeking a volunteer(s) to help organize a children's activity during the second rehearsal so that we can happily occupy all participants.
  • Any adults willing to help with costumes and/or mending would be greatly appreciated!
  • Do you have a stuffed animal on wheels that might be appropriate for a child to pull along? Please let us know!

Please join me in supporting Jimmy Cabot in his mission project.

Global Philanthropy Leaders (GPL) is a local organization that aims to teach teens about the financial needs of less fortunate people around the world. GPL provides micro-loans to people who do not meet the credit standards of banks. GPL uses  to determine who receives loans; then Kiva collects the donations, distributes them to the people in need, and collects the money as it is repaid. The people receiving the loans need money for an array of different uses: agriculture, clothing, schools, business start-ups, etc.

Jimmy is a participant in the GPL program, has donated some of his own money to support the cause, and has begun to organize bake sales in our community to raise further money for his project. You can support him this Sunday by buying some of these baked goods or by giving a monetary donation at his table in Parish Hall after the service.
