BACKSNACK PROGRAM  BackSnack Program
Volunteers Needed

The BackSnack group is gearing up for the 2018-2019 school year.  If you are interested and did NOT receive the September 25 email, please contact Pat Carle at 816.228.5312.  We feel certain that we left a couple of people off the list, but can't recall who!  Thanks for you patience.
CHURCH IN THE PARK A BIG SUCCESS
Over 200 attend service last week

Many thanks to everyone who came to the combined service at Lake Jacomo Park last Sunday  (9/23).  Thanks also to those who assisted in the planning ( Bill Carle and Diane Gerlach with the other churches to help make this service such a great  success.

With an overall head count over 200 people, we feel this  was a great success for the first time venture. Roughly $1,250.00  was collected in offering to support the Community Services  League which will help care for the  underserved and those in need in  our own community. We have much  to be thankful for as we come  together to represent the Body of Christ together in one faith.

From this gathering we will plan other joint programs that will  raise our fellowship together to worship God and to care for our  community. There is talk and preliminary planning to pursue a  "habitat" house to build somewhere in the greater Blue Springs-Eastern Jackson County area.  Much more to follow as we work together.
HURRICANE RELIEF REQUESTEDERD
How to help

The Episcopal Bishops throughout the church have encouraged all who want to help with relief efforts to send their donations to the Episcopal Relief and Development's Hurricane Relief Fund .

They are discouraging the sending of goods or travel to the region for now. Resurrection will collect checks made out to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection (marked hurricane relief in the memo line) for the next four weeks and send one check to ERD in support of hurricane relief for those who wish to contribute in this way.
